“Evan, I love you. I love the way you feel inside of me. Please show me how much you love me. Make love to me like you never have before.” She said as she pushed further into my body.

With every thrust I made I knew I could never have her again, I could feel my build up. “Lila, I’m ready to come, I need to pull out.” I said, I wasn’t wearing a condom.

“No please, Evan. Don’t, I want all of you. I need it, I need you.” She said as she cried out my name.

“Fuck, Lila I can’t hold it any longer.” I had her pushed up against the wall and as I came, she did too. I could feel our bodies rocking against each other. It felt so wonderful being inside of her and kissing her all over.

“Evan, that was incredible. I love you so much and I’m so sorry for hurting you. I hope in time we can be friends again.” She said kissing me.

“I have to go Lila, you need to get back inside. I will always love you and be your friend no matter what. Have a nice life, Lila.” I said as I kissed her and walked away. I walked past the front porch and saw Liam and Ashton standing there talking. I looked at them both and said, “See ya around”

They both said “See Ya” and I went on my way. I didn’t feel bad about what had happened, he had her heart and that’s all that mattered. I had her one last time and he would have her the rest of his life.

I went and checked into a hotel, I needed to shower and a drink. I was going to catch a flight out in the morning. I called my dad and told him everything, I hadn’t completely been honest with him about Lila. I even told him what happened today. He said he knew something was going on but waited for me to come to him.

I showered and ordered dinner. Then I received and text from Brody.

Brody: You fucked her didn’t you? I think Liam knows. Where are you, we aren’t leaving until tomorrow.

Me: I made love to her, just as she asked me to. I’m at the Marriott. Come over dude and have a drink.

Brody: That’s my man, okay I will. Nikki is staying with Lila for a while so I will hang out with you.

When he arrived, I ordered some champagne and we hit up the mini bar. Those little drinks needed to bigger that’s for sure. I think we drank everything that was in there and ordered more. I hated to see my bill in the morning. It was for sure worth it the way I was feeling.

“Hey Brody, you fucked any seals lately?” I asked laughing

“Hell the fuck no, dude. That was a onetime fuck up.”

“Yeah, she is a wild one for sure. She is the only one that will ever love me though.” I said as I felt tears in my eyes.

“Fuck bro, you crying?” he said as he hugged me

“I’m good just thinking. If you really love Nikki, then tell her. Don’t let any other jerk have her.” I said patting him on his back.

“You will not end up with Alyssa, you will find your forever, I promise you, dude. She is out there.”

“Yeah, I guess you’re right, bro. Thanks”

Three in a half years later

I’d been working at the law firm as a Trial Lawyer for a year now. I’d been there for six years all together and lived in the same damn place. Brody lived in Ohio with Nikki, and Zander was back in Alabama. Audrey had moved too, so the only person I had was Alyssa. I couldn’t stand her half the time, but she was my only friend left here. She worked at another law firm down the street. I hadn’t slept with her in years, but she was always around. The one person I could count on to never leave me. No matter what I was going through she was there. Sometimes I wish she wasn’t, she’d never really betrayed me or screwed me over. I just didn’t have any romantic feelings towards her. She never had a steady boyfriend, I knew deep down she thought I was just going to eventually give into her and be with her, but I wasn’t.

I was having lunch with some co-workers the other day when Brody called and said Lila was flying to New York for a wedding. Lila was now married to Liam, and they had twin girls. She was a lawyer and was doing really well. I was happy for them. I would love to see her but it would bring back old memories. I didn’t even have her number anymore. I knew I would see her next year at Nikki and Brody’s wedding. Yep, he finally popped the big question. I was happy for the two of them. They had always loved each other and they found their way back to one another after all.

I was having dinner with Alyssa at the café, she had a case she wanted my opinion on. I was so tired, I just went straight there from work. We were standing in the corner getting ready to get a table and I saw her. It was Lila, she looked a little older. Her hair was shorter and she was a little thicker. But she was still beautiful.

“Evan, is that who the fuck I think it is?” said Alyssa

“I think it is her.” I said as I stood there in shock

I think Lila noticed us as well, she turned around and had a shocked look on her face. Then she walked over to us.

“Well, hey Evan, Alyssa. How are you? Are you two married?” she asked

“Hey, and no, we are not married.” I said

“Well Lila Carls, I heard you are a big fancy lawyer now.” Said Alyssa as she wrapped her arm around mine.

“It’s Carls-Ellis and yes, I am.”

Oh damn, she had to throw Liam’s name in there. She still hated Alyssa I could tell. I wanted to hug her tell her how much I missed her. But I didn’t, I just stood there with my hands in my pocket.

“Well it was good seeing y’all, I have to get going.” She said as she turned to walk away.

“Yeah you too, sweets.” Said Alyssa.

I was just ready to go home now, I was tired and seeing her just made my heart skip a few beats. I ended up going home, Alyssa was kind of pissed and wanted to join me, but I told her I needed alone time. I was so glad it was Friday. I thought about going to see my dad that weekend but wasn’t sure. I hadn’t been to see my grandparents in a few years. I haven’t heard anything from Tatum. When I talked to Zander he didn’t mention her. I was sure she is a doctor by now.

I heard a knock at the door and I knew exactly who it was, I knew she would come see me.

“Hey Lila, come on in.” Fuck, she is so goddamn beautiful.

“Is this a bad time? If so I can go.” She started to walk away.

“Nope, it’s okay. Want a beer?” I said, walking to the fridge.

“Sure, that would be great.” She said as she sat on the couch. I walked over and sat next to her, and handed her a beer. I could see she was nervous, hell, I was nervous.

“So, how are you Lila?” I asked

“Good, I’m here for Heather’s wedding.”

“Yeah, I heard she was getting married.”

There was silence then we talked for a couple hours. She showed me pics of her girls and told me stories about them. She talked about Eric and his new girlfriend, and Brody and Nikki.

“Lila, let’s go to the park?” I asked hoping she would agree.

“Sounds great, I thought you would never ask.”

We left for the park hand in hand, just like the old times. It felt so good talking to her and holding her hand. I had only had sex four times since our last time together, I just was tired of the one night stands and couldn’t find anyone I was interested in. We had a hotdog from the cart and watched the ducks eat, and then she asked if I wanted to get a drink at the hotel with her. I knew I shouldn’t but I did.

We had several drinks, and then we danced. She still smelled as good as she did years ago. My heart was breaking all over again, I couldn’t let her back in. Hell, who was I kidding, I had never stopped loving her, I could honestly say the only person I loved this much was Tatum, but she too chose someone else over me.

“Lila, what are we doing here?” I asked as she laid her head on my chest.

“Evan, I’m not sure. It feels right to me. I’ve missed you so much. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. Please come back and stay with me tonight. I need you more than you will ever know.

“Lila, it’s not a good idea. You are married now. I don’t think I can.”

“Please, just one night, Evan.” She said as she kissed me.

Fuck, how could I say no? I started kissing her we made our way to the elevator and I was ready to take her right there. I wanted to rip her clothes off and wrap her legs around my waist and just fuck the hell out of her.

Once in the room she started undressing me and her. She was still beautiful even after having children, her body was perfect. I started kissing her breast then worked my way down, I needed taste her. I hadn’t tasted her in so long, I felt like I would come once my tongue stroked her clit, she was so wet and tasted so fucking good.

“Evan, please fuck me now. I need you inside of me.” She begged

I kissed my way back up and guided myself inside of her and it was like fireworks going off. Her warm wetness wrapped around my throbbing shaft was the best feeling ever. We made mad, and I mean mad, passionate love all goddamn night. I awoke to her giving me some much needed head. I loved the way she always sucked the tip and slid her tongue up and down as she cupped my balls.

“Good morning beautiful, now it’s my turn.” I said as I picked her up and took her to the shower, and made love again. Then we ordered breakfast. Her phone was ringing and I could tell it was Liam. She started crying when she hung up. I just held her and told her it was fine and that we couldn’t do this again.

“I know Evan. I just love and miss you so much. I know it’s wrong of me. I love Liam and my life so much, but I have always wanted you in my life, too.” She said as she cried on my chest.

“Come on you have a wedding to attend and then I will see you after words.” I said as I started to get dressed

I left knowing I couldn’t be with her ever again. She went to the wedding and I went into the office, I had a case I needed to look at before Monday. Just as she said, Lila called me after the wedding and I met her at the hotel. I stayed with her and held her all night. I took her to the airport the next morning. I loved her so much that I was letting her go again. I made a vow to myself that I was going to move on and put her in the past just like the others. I kissed her goodbye for the last time.

I was on my way home when I got a phone call, it was Zander. He wouldn’t tell me anything except come to Alabama. I had no fucking clue what was going on. All I could think about was my grandparents, thinking something was wrong with one of them. I turned around and went back to the airport. He had said to call him when I arrived in Birmingham and he would pick me up.

It took me eight hours to get there. I didn’t even bring any bags with me. I would have to get some clothes once I found out what was going on. I saw Zander and Audrey from a distance. Then Audrey came running into my arms.

“Oh God Evan, I’m so glad you are here. She needs you badly. He almost killed her but she got him good.” Audrey said laughing

“What is going on, who are you talking about?” I seethed

“Bro, fucking Thayer tried to kill Tatum, he beat the fuck out of her and shot her. Somehow she managed to get the gun from him and she shot him in the shoulder, and did so much damage that he had to have his arm amputated. I guess along with abuse all these years, he threatened to hurt her loved ones if she left him.” Zander said with unshed tears in his eyes.
