list to become sacrificed that very night, this brown-skinned man
who now stands behind me fought valiantly for his escape, but there
were too many of them on him—he took my spot as the next to be
sacrificed. At that moment that he was about to have the ivory tusk
implanted into his chest, and his heart removed, eaten, and tossed
into the fire, our rescuers arrived and saved the day.”

stands before me, I would have been sacrificed, and not be alive
now. I shall forever be grateful to this man who is now my
brother...”
