She hesitated, trying to understand what he’d said. “We go to Blessing?” Her eyes twinkled.

“Ja, ’tis a blessing you are here.” He grinned back at her and kissed the tip of her nose.

And while they missed the celebration of statehood, they didn’t much care. They were too busy exploring the blessings of married life.
