Bear of Interest (11 page)

He wiggled it over her opening, just barely pushing the bristles inside her. She closed her eyes as he worked it upward and rested it on her clit. He was the artist this time, not her. He swept it backward and forward and then around and around the now very hard nub.

She put her hand on his shoulder as she felt her orgasm rising and then it took her before she was ready. She held onto him but was scared she was going to fall over. Cole encouraged her to sit.

He pushed her thighs apart and once again, painted strokes around her opening. He leaned into her body and kissed her.

“You want me inside you?” he asked.

She bit his bottom lip before answering. “I do and—

His cell phone rang. He ignored it but when it continued to ring he reached over for it.

“Damn, the clinic. I better get this.”

He stood and mumbled something and then turned around.

“I have to go deliver a baby but I’ll be back and we’ll finish this. You think you can hold on till then?”

“Depends on how long that baby takes to arrive.”

Chapter Nine

Cole swore all the way to the clinic. He liked Jenna but why had she chosen such an inappropriate time to go into labor? Bear and Ash were at a medical conference in Portland, Oregon, and Charlotte, although capable of delivering a baby, thought it best that Cole oversee the imminent birth.

He put on his scrubs and walked down the hall to the biggest birthing room they had. Brady’s investment kept his place up and running so it seemed fitting that his wife should have the very best room and first class treatment. He walked in to see Brady holding Jenna’s hand.

“What are you doing here? Where’s Bear or Ash?” asked Brady.

“At a conference.”

“Today, of all days, when my wife is having our baby?” asked Brady.

“Honey, it’s fine. They didn’t know I’d go into labor a few weeks early,” said Jenna.

“So how are you doing?” asked Cole.

“My water broke when we got here and I’m having lots of contractions,” said Jenna.

“Okay, let’s take a look,” said Cole. He reached for his latex gloves and then lifted back the covers on the bed. “Just try and relax while I examine you.”

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” asked Brady.

“I’m going to see how dilated your wife is.”

“You are not looking at my wife’s private bits.”

“I’m a doctor,” said Cole. “And how about I don’t look but just feel them?”

“You will not put one finger on my wife’s pussy. Stand away from her or you’ll be sorry.”

“You really are an asshole, Walsh, you know that? This is still all about me deflowering Abigail.”

Brady puffed up his chest and took three strides over to him.

“She wanted to experience a real bear for her first time,” said Cole.

“Why you fucking bastard.”

Brady took a swing at him, almost knocking him off his feet. Cole clenched his teeth. Asshole Walsh had stepped over the line this time. Cole got hold of Brady’s jacket and was about to throw him across the room when Brady bowed and took a run at him, both of them fell to the floor, rolling and swearing.

“Take that loser,” said Brady, punishing him in the ribs.

“I’d kick you in the balls but I’d have trouble finding any on you,” said Cole.

Jenna whistled and then shouted. “Will you two stop this foolish behavior, and one of your better give me a fucking epidural because this hurts like hell.”

Brady got up and rushed over to her. “You heard my wife, epidural and on the double.”

Cole seriously thought about slipping Brady a tranquilizer. He’d been pacing up and down more like a cougar than a bear shifter. Jenna had gotten in an hour’s sleep after the epidural, but now it was time for her to start pushing.

“I hope you won’t remember any image you’re seeing here tonight,” said Brady as Jenna put her feet on the stirrups.

“Are we going to do this again?” asked Cole.

“If you guys don’t stop this I’m going to give birth on my own, okay?” said Jenna. “Pretty soon we’ll have three babies in this room.”

She was right. They were acting like two jerks.

“Jenna, you want to give a nice big push for me,” said Cole.

“Come on Jenna, just like we’ve practiced,” said Brady, imitating a push that almost made Cole laughed but he held it in.

Jenna pushed down and groaned.

“Okay rest time,” said Cole.

“Nice deep breaths,” said Brady. “One, two, three, one, two three.”

“And again Jenna,” said Cole.

She pushed again, Brady did the same but this time a loud fart escaped from him.

Cole burst out laughing and so did Jenna. “And there was me worried I was going to do that,” she said.

“I had two beef and bean burritos for lunch, okay. Farting happens to everyone,” said Brady.

He’d suppress any sarcastic comeback to that comment. And he certainly wouldn’t be waving his hands around in front of his nose. “You’re doing great Jenna, next push, really, really bear down, no pun indented. But not you Brady, because the air’s already a little putrid” said Cole. Yeah, he couldn’t stop himself from getting one little snarky remark in there.

Jenna pushed and Cole saw the baby’s head begin to appear. Looked like it had very dark hair like Brady.

“Take a rest and then another one exactly like the last one,” said Cole.

Jenna groaned and cried out on the next three pushes which didn’t surprise Cole because this was a big baby.

“One more,” said Cole.

“I don’t think I can,” she said.

“You can, you can do it,” said Brady.

She screamed and pushed and then the baby slipped out into Cole’s hands. A boy who was perfect and beautiful, and suddenly Cole was really jealous of Brady. He had found his mate and now he had a son.

Cole gave him a quick check over and then rested him on Jenna’s belly.

He tied the cord and handed Brady the scissors.

“There you go Dad,” said Cole. The words choked in his throat. He wanted a mate and a child so bad now that it caused him physical pain.

“Honey, he’s the best looking baby I’ve ever seen,” said Brady.

“Does he have any bear features?” asked Jenna.

“Shifter marks on both his front and back,” said Cole. “But he’s going to be one fine bear when he’s ready to shift.”

Damn, he hated to admit that too. He looked down, not wanting Brady to see the tears in his eyes.

Sam tried to get her breath back as Cole parted her legs again. Since he’d returned from delivering Jenna and Brady Walsh’s baby, he seemed like he was a man on a mission. They’d fucked four times already and how he got hard so quickly after coming each time, Sam didn’t know. Not that she was complaining.

He slid his cock inside her, pumped at her, sweat dripping from him and not her. The stirring in her pussy began again. Her body was in a permanent state of arousal now. She didn’t know where one orgasm finished and the next began.

Sam ran her hands up his arms, feeling his biceps standing out more with each thrust and then he exploded inside her.

“More baby, more,” he said, pulling out of her, putting on yet another condom and turning her onto her side.

Sam held to the top of her bed as he slid into her pussy and they began to ride together, his leg going over the top of hers as he did his cock slapping trick. He kissed her neck, while bringing his hand around to her mound and before she knew it, he was playing with her clit.

Oh my God, she wanted to say. Pussy and clit action, double whammy orgasm was on its way.

She reared up, her tits pulling, her breasts erect. She took a deep breath coming twice, three times, four…she was in sex heaven.

Cole made strange noises close to her ear; he almost sounded like a bear or some other animal.

“I love your pussy,” he said, thrusting until he finally came and a warmth spread throughout her lower body.

He pulled out and flopped onto his back.

“Wow, Cole, you should deliver a baby before we have sex every time now.”

He smiled. “I guess I needed to burn some calories.”

“Was the baby cute?”

He didn’t answer for a few seconds. “I guess so.”

“Do guys get envious like women do when they see other people’s kids?”

“Maybe,” he said.

“A man of few words or is it something to do with Brady Walsh becoming a dad before you?”

“No, I…okay, I’m a little jealous that he found someone before I did. Did I tell you they’ve called the baby Landon? It was his father’s name.”

Sam shook her head. That was a cute name.

“All good things come to those who wait. That’s what my grandma used to say.”

She thought it stupid, but now Sam believed it was true and her good thing had just rocked her world.

It had been the first time they’d spent the night together. They woke up still holding hands.

“I guess I should tell you more about me,” said Sam. She knew they were at the point of their relationship that he should know why she’d been so guarded initially, and why sometimes he’d still need to give her space.

“Only if you want to,” said Cole.

“Yeah, I want to. I was born to a single mother. I never knew who my father was. I don’t know if she didn’t know or didn’t want to ever let others know. She got in with some bad people and when I was four she was murdered.”

Cole turned to face her. He ran his fingers down the side of her face. “Sammy, I’m so sorry. That’s horrible.”

Sam nodded. “It’s one of the reasons I became a cop and had my heart set on being with the homicide division. They never found who killed my mother so I guess each time I find a killer it’s compensation.”

“I can understand that. So did you have other relatives who raised you?”

Sam nodded. “I lived with my gran until I was in first grade but then she got too sick to look after me and I became a product of the foster care system.”

Sam remembered one home after the other and how she’d started acting out and stealing and lying, biting other kids. She shook her head. It felt like a lifetime ago.

“I didn’t do really well. They couldn’t find me adoptive parents because I was considered troubled and I got moved around the state and more angry at the world.”

“It must have been tough.”

“It was a nightmare. Some of the foster parents were physically and verbally abusive. I hated it and couldn’t wait until I was eighteen and on my own.”

“What happened then?” asked Cole.

“I got my shit together, started to go to school so I could live my dream of catching bad guys. I also started counseling and that’s how I took up painting. My first ones supposedly showed all my pent up anger and frustration.”

“And that’s all gone, right?”

“It’s history but it’s the reason I’m guarded around new people. I know the horrible things people can do to one another. I guess I still have trust issues.”

“How about me? How do you feel about me?” he asked, squeezing her hand.

“I trust you, but if you ever betrayed that trust I just don’t know what I’d do. I’m hoping you’ll always be honest with me. No secrets between us, ever.”
