“I can’t stop!” she cried out. Blake lifted his face from where he’d settled and gave her a smile.
The sparks in his eyes blazed.
When she took a deep breath and held it in, he just went harder, faster, deeper.
“Ah! Yes, yes-yes-yes-yes!”
Her next breaths were shallow, hot and fast. Her eyes, which had fallen halfway closed, shot open as electricity coursed through her body, washing hot and cool over her in one wave after another.
When her breath returned to something below heart-attack-danger-level, Lexie groped around in the darkness, surprised first of all to find Blake lying beside her with an arm under her head, and surprised secondly to find that her hand went down her bear’s body to find him completely naked.
“When did that happen?” she asked, letting her head roll from side to side as her afterglow faded slightly.
“You were out of it for a few seconds there,” he said in a growly, low-toned voice. “I took advantage of it, I guess.”
When he smiled, she saw that she wasn’t the only one having a feral spell.
“Last time this happened to me,” she said, still catching her breath completely, “I was in the bath tub, and had just gotten a new shower head thing.”
He let out a chuckle that rumbled deep in Lexie’s core. “I’m glad I match up to masturbating.” His voice, and his breath, both caressed her neck, cooling the sweat that had pooled.
“Yeah, well,” she let out a laugh, “I can do that eight or ten times in a row.
That
though? I’m pretty sure I’d end up with some kind of really embarrassing sports-type injury before I’d give up.”
“I guess we’ll have to be careful about that,” Blake said, moving his arm in such a way that Lexie’s head rolled just to the side and let him kiss behind her ear.
“Not too careful,” she said. Her pulse rose almost immediately, and the familiar wet heat had already begun. Without even thinking about it, she was moving her hips up and down in a slow rhythm. Blake felt her motion and laid his hand flat on her, cupping her sex and grinding against her clit ever so gently.
“I hope,” she added a second later.
“Leaves bothering you?” Blake’s smile was fiercer than before, his teeth turning nearer to fangs than they had been before.
Lexie stared at him, unable to move, or to think, or even to breathe for just a moment. “You’re beautiful,” she finally said as she lifted her hand to his face, letting her palm rasp gently over the whiskers.
“Nothing compared to you,” he whispered, so near to her throat that she could feel the prickle of each syllable.
He pressed a finger against her lips and she took it between them, sucking for a moment before he withdrew. He hooked his arm around her, letting his hand slide to her breast and circling the fingertip she’d wet around her pebbling nipple.
“Yeah,” she said, “I’d definitely get a severe injury before I made you stop.”
“We’ve got all the time in the world,” he whispered again. “And I intend to take it.”
Something about the gravelly finality of what he said sent a shiver up her spine that tingled her skin with a wash of goosebumps. She arched her back, forcing herself harder against Blake’s palm, relishing the pressure.
“Squeeze me harder,” she said as she reached down and wrapped her fingers around her bear’s erection. To show him what she meant, she gripped him tighter, and when he let out a soft roar of pleasure, she knew she had something. “My turn,” she whispered, and crept up first onto an elbow and then spread her legs, straddling his. “Although if I’m being totally honest I don’t remember the last time I did this, so you’ll have to forgi—”
“You could gnaw on it like a Slim Jim and I wouldn’t say a goddamn word.”
What he said could be a joke, but he was absolutely, completely serious. She knew he was when he caught her eyes and wouldn’t drop his gaze from hers for what seemed like eternity. Lexie swallowed hard, trying to keep herself from tearing up at the knowledge that for whatever reason, that one line, that little clutch of words that would have been a dumb joke if they came out of anyone else, for some reason made her completely comfortable, made her feel completely...
“I’m safe with you, huh?” she asked, in an almost dumbfounded way. “I don’t have anything at all to worry about, do I?”
For another agonizingly perfect moment, he studied her face. She wasn’t sure what he could make out of her, but she could see his eyes, his blazing, burning, golden eyes, and knew he wasn’t taking his choice of words lightly.
“It’s been years since I trusted anyone,” he said softly, and reached down to brush a fallen tendril of hair out of Lexie’s face. “And I don’t know why, but from the second I heard your voice, I knew you were someone I could...”
She kissed his bare chest, inhaling his scent, and smiled as she waited for him to finish. When he paused another few seconds, she kissed him again.
“You’re safe too,” she finally said, realizing he didn’t know exactly how to say what was hanging on the end of his tongue.
“I,” he stumbled over his words again, and swallowed audibly. “I know,” he finally said. “I keep questioning myself, I keep telling myself I’m nuts for falling this hard for you so soon, but—”
It was Lexie’s turn to interrupt. “Sometimes, you just
know
,” she whispered, then kissed his chest again. “Someone told me once that you shouldn’t always think too much, since it just gets in the way.”
She took his smile to mean she read him perfectly, that her words rang true, and the next moment, she slid her lips down the line of his abs, and embraced his tip with a gentle kiss. She slid her mouth down over his cock, letting her tongue and her lips explore as she drank him in. Lexie took a deep breath, and shuddered as Blake’s scent filled her.
The prickly hairs around him grew longer and fuller as he swelled.
“Guess I’m not the only one feeling a little more animal than human, huh?” she looked up in his eyes, kissed away a droplet from his tip, and shuddered as it slid down her tongue. “Seems like someone else is just as ready for this as I am.”
Her giggle was soft against Blake’s muscled belly, but she felt goosebumps against her cheek a moment later when she lay her head there to nuzzle him. She gripped his shaft in both hands, and stroked him once, twice, and took him back in her mouth.
Sliding her tongue around his shape, and around to the underside, she smiled when she felt his groan rumble against her naked body. She pulled off him with a sucked kiss, but kept her fists wrapped, slowly pumping up and down. “I don’t know how you waited this long,” she whispered. “But I can’t do it anymore.”
With one smooth motion, Blake took her in his arms and flipped her over onto her back, resting his weight lightly against her. “Then beg,” he said as his lips curled into a grin.
His tip slid against her entrance, up and down her labia. She was so wet and so ready that he could have moved into her without the slightest resistance, but still he held back. “You’re killing me,” she said with a returned smile, and arched herself to try and force him in, but he refused her.
“Beg,” he said. The smile was gone, but the warmth in his voice filled her.
At first, she thought she was just playing along, but as the words came out of her mouth, Lexie realized that, no, she wasn’t. She
needed
this in a way she’d never needed anyone. She needed to feel him inside her, to know that he ached for her the way she burned for him.
“Please,” she said softly. “I can’t wait, Blake. I don’t want to spend another second not knowing how you—ah!”
Instead of interrupting her with words, he interrupted with a deep, hungry thrust. He slid into her freely, his heat filling her every inch. Her body constricted around him, pulling him in deeper, and she locked her legs behind his back and clamped her hands onto his shoulders.
His movements were patient, but with each thrust of his hips, she knew what he was saying. There was a beast inside of him, and with every passing second, she felt it welling up inside her. That’s when she noticed... there was one inside of her, too.
With her ankles locked behind his back, Lexie thrust her hips up to meet him. As he pulled away, so did she, drawing him almost out of her. Blake stared into her eyes, and at exactly the same moment, they slammed themselves together, both groaning in the way that only pain melting into pleasure can sound.
His sweat ran down the sides of his face, and with every breath Lexie pulled into her lungs, Blake filled her soul just like he was filling her body.
He drove into her again, and dropped his head to suck on her neck. She felt his teeth against her skin, and clutched his head against her, shivering with ecstasy as the nibble turned into a bite.
For the next few moments, they moved like that, one into the other, her sex cradling him, urging him, and then squeezing around him to refuse to let go.
“I can’t,” he was breathing hard—too hard to say much more.
“Good,” she whispered. “I can’t either.”
Blake pulled back one last time, but instead of letting him go, Lexie chased with a rocking sway of her hips that enveloped him so achingly deep in her that she let out a soft cry into the darkness.
He clutched her to him as tightly as he’d ever held anyone. She dug her nails into his back and clenched her jaws as he swelled inside her, and when he exploded, Lexie’s entire world narrowed. Her eyes flew open and she saw him staring straight into them.
Blake pulsed, filling Lexie’s shaking body. Their bodies convulsed together, refusing to let go for even a second.
They both took breaths at the same time and let them trail out of their mouths slowly. “I’m no poet,” Lexie finally said, “so you’ll have to forgive me for sorta stumbling over my words.”
He curled a finger into her hair and rolled to one side, before sliding her head back into the crook of an arm. “I’m pretty sure that almost anyone’s more of a wordsmith than I am,” he said with a smile. “Anyway, if you were too smooth, I’d think you had practiced whatever you’re going to say before we met, and that’s not good.”
“Too much thinking,” she said with a smirk, and went to kiss his cheek, but he turned an intercepted her. Pulling her against him, he kissed her long, and hard. “And not enough of that.”
“You’re stalling,” he said, his lips so near hers she felt his words slid along her face.
“I think,” she swallowed hard, like she was trying to force words she wanted to say, but at the same time, felt slightly unsure.
“Hey,” he caressed her face with curling fingers. “You’re safe with me, remember? I’m not going to make fun of you’re crazy. Hell, I was just about to say that I just caught myself falling in lo—”
Blake cut himself off.
“No fair if I have to talk,” Lexie said.
“It’s hard for me,” he said. “It’s always been hard to admit what I’m feeling but... right now I know it’s right and I know I’m... oh what the hell. Somehow, I just caught myself falling in love.”
With a shriek, Lexie threw her arms around her bear and rolled back on top of him. She felt him harden again, and she leaned her head down, kissed his ear, and whispered, “I love you, too.”
They held each other, and they kissed like they were never, ever letting go.

“I
dunno about this,” Tenner said, smoothing the mustache out of his mouth and staring questioningly at the DVD in his hand. “There’s a big fight on tonight and—”
Dawson, the piano bar’s bear-pianist, grumbled. “You ever want me to play another Michael Bolton song, and you’ll put that thing in the system and you’ll quit complaining.”
Eve, Dora, Monte, Morales and Dawson all stared at the old bar-tending walrus.
He shrugged his huge shoulders, sighed heavily and relented. “Fine,” he said. “But if one soul in this place complains, that’s it. No more arts and crafts DVDs.”
“It isn’t an arts and crafts DVD,” Dora said. “Well I mean, Lexie
is
an arts and crafts... you know what? Never mind. Just put the thing in and lets all see what those crazy kids did.”
“There’s a reason they went to New York,” Eve inserted herself. “I doubt
The Daily Show
would want someone that hadn’t done something incredible. Although to be honest, I’m not really sure what it is. Is it like Matt Lauer?”
“Really?” Morales cut in. “Really? You think... Let’s just get this show on the road.”
Eve’s phone buzzed, but she quickly silenced it, shaking her head slightly.
“Want me to handle that?” Morales asked. “I told you, if he was bothering you, I’d—”
“No, I’ve got to deal with it at some point,” Eve said. “And I kinda,” she trailed off for a moment.
“What she’s trying to say is that she wants to talk to him, and she wants to see if he’s really changed, but she’s scared,” Dora said. “It’s always the same story with this one.”
Eve nodded. “If you know me, you know me.” She shook her head again. “I can’t keep from thinking that maybe he really
is
the one for me. I just can’t get over—”
The DVD started playing, interrupting her thoughts.
“Sometimes you gotta stop thinking so much
,” the screen read. “
It just gets in the way of what you know in your heart
.”
“I’m used to being the one with the pithy wisdom,” Eve said, laughing under her breath.
“What the hell is that? Is he really going to slide across that truck?” Dora let out a peal of laughter. “He made it!” she cheered, standing up and almost knocking Monte’s beer over. He snatched the glass, lifting it to his lips and watching the screen.
“If I didn’t know better, I’d think he practiced that for a while. That’s not easy to do.”
Eve’s phone buzzed again. She picked it up, her finger hovered, and for a split second, it looked like she was going to hit the green button instead of the red one. Even from where she was standing, and pointing at the TV as Blake managed to tie one of his fingers into the side of a potholder, she caught Eve out of the corner of her eye.
“Come on,” Dora said, grabbing Eve’s hand and hoisting her bodily out of the chair. “I gotta pee.”
