Alpha Champion (Wolf Fighters Book 1) (9 page)

Her thoughts were interrupted as she could take no more and came, her already sensitive nerves sparking with release as her vision was blurred by the sensations overwhelming her. Lucas brought his hands up and held hers as she went, her hands tightening and holding on for dear life as each pulse went through her, radiating and satisfying and amazing all at the same time.

When she finally came back down to earth, Lucas was watching her. She loved the way he looked at her, intense and caring. She hoped their children would have beautiful eyes like his.

“Are you ready?” he asked as he came over her, each muscle in his arms defined perfectly as he propped himself above her. She ran her fingers lightly along his arms just to feel the incredible corded strength there.

“Yes. Make me yours, Lucas.”

She could feel him at her entrance, poised to go inside. She was so wet and ready. She wanted to feel every part of him.

He moved in slowly, and at first, the sensation shocked her. It was so unlike anything she’d ever felt. His sheer size filled her completely, and for a moment, she wasn’t sure if he was going to fit. But he waited, and as her body slowly accommodated him, her shock turned to unmitigated pleasure. He moved all the way in, their two bodies coming together completely.

The sensation was ecstasy.

She could see he felt the same, his body tensed and his eyes unable to hide the pleasure he was experiencing.

Then he started to move, slowly coming out of her, then pushing back in. Each stroke was heaven for Lily, and she could feel every part of him against every part of her. Her entire body felt like it was on fire.

“Wow, that’s so much more than I even expected,” he said, gazing intently into her eyes. “It’s heaven with you, Lily.”

She closed her eyes, wondering if she should tell him she’d been thinking the same thing. But as he continued to move faster and faster, all she could do was hold on as her body moved instinctively in time with his.

She felt pressure building inside her, different than ever before. This was more than what they’d done in her room or out in the garden. This was something much stronger.

She twisted her hands in the sheets, unable to take the sensation building between them.

“Hold on to me,” Lucas growled. “I want to feel you.”

She held on, letting her nails dig in as he continued to take her to new heights of tension and pleasure. “Lucas, I can’t…”

“Come with me,” Lucas urged. “Let go, love.”

“I can’t,” she said. “It’s too strong.”

He reached out and brushed her hair off her face, slowing their pace for a moment as he took her mouth in a deep kiss while they were still joined together. The kiss went on and on, his tongue stroking as he began to move again, but this time, she stayed relaxed, and it felt that when the pleasure built this time, she wouldn’t be able to stop it.

The sensation built to a fever pitch, and she felt like she could barely take any more. Lucas pushed one more time into her, all the way to the hilt, and he brought his hand down to stimulate her. With that final stroke of his hand, she came apart, a kaleidoscope of sensation cascading over her. A second later, she could feel him doing her, pushing inside her with power and wetness and warmth as he howled his proclamation to the universe that she was his forever.

Her own orgasm shook her to the very core, overwhelming and incredible. She felt her wolf deep inside her, satisfied and aware of her mate. She felt more alive in those few moments than she’d ever felt over the entirety of her life. And even when her body began to relax, she was filled with an incredible satisfaction that seemed could never be diminished.

Lucas came out of her slowly and snuggled beside her, pulling the plush, soft sheets over them as she enjoyed the afterglow of their amazing sex.

“How was it?” he asked, nuzzling the back of her neck.

“Do you need to ask?” she replied.

Lucas laughed and pulled her closer to him, the two of them fitting perfectly together.

In her mind’s eye, Lily could see cubs in their future, not far off, playing in the forest behind their new home, being watched over by the careful eyes of their father. She looked forward to growing older with Lucas, having grandchildren, taking care of each other in their waning years.

The past years had been painful, but as Lily saw it, they were only the start of something much grander and much greater.

“I can’t wait to do that again tomorrow, honey,” Lucas whispered. “Thank you for believing in me.”

Lily turned to look at her mate. “Thank you for fighting for me. For us. For never giving up.”

Lucas nodded and smiled. “Always.”

Lily nestled back into his arms, enjoying the soothing feeling of being surrounded by her love. As sleep slowly crept over her, she thanked the universe for bringing them back together again. For bringing Lucas back to her. For giving her the courage to finally fight for what she wanted.

Lily knew that Lucas was the one who’d won the tournament, but as she stroked his hair and listened to his heartbeat, she felt like she was the one who’d won the prize.

Epilogue

L
ily spent
the next week sequestered in the house with Lucas. After all, they had seven years apart to catch up on. On the seventh day, she agreed to have Laurel over to the house. She’d checked in with her sister by phone, just to make sure she was doing okay, but she trusted Lucas’s family to treat her as one of their own.

Laurel hadn’t seemed to have any problem spending time with the Vale brothers, and Lily just hoped she hadn’t caused them much trouble. Laurel was much more sheltered than she’d ever been, even at seventeen.

When he heard a knock, Lucas groaned. “I don’t want to go downstairs,” he said, catching her by the hand and pulling her back to nuzzle her neck, making her giggle.

“Stop it. I have family responsibilities, and I haven’t seen Laurel in a while.”

“Did your dad even let you two see each other often?” he asked.

She nodded. “No reason not to. He knew I couldn’t get her out of there.”

“Does she even understand what was going on?” Lucas asked.

“No, and I don’t want her to,” Lily answered, brushing dark hair out of his eyes. She loved to be able to see the green there, hated anything obscuring it.

“Well, fine then. We’ll go down. But just so you know, according to my brothers, she’s been doing fine there.”

“Is Jordan still around?” she asked as Lucas led her out the door. “I thought he was due back on tour.”

Lucas shook his head. “I’m not sure. I think he’s planning to take a break or something. Either way, I think he meant to stay a little while to make sure your sister had protection, along with Asher.”

“Very nice of him,” she said.

“I wouldn’t exactly call Jordan nice,” Lucas said.

Lily had to laugh. Jordan had always been the most intense of the brothers. When she’d dated Lucas before, she’d remembered Jordan as a few years younger, a tall, grumpy teen with more muscles and looks than he’d known what to do with and a bad attitude to match.

She’d seen him as an adult once since then, when he came by to give Lucas a report on how things were going at the dojo, and she was surprised by how much he’d changed. He was tall and handsome, like Lucas, but with dark-auburn hair and reddish-brown eyes that glowed almost crimson. He shared Lucas’s aristocratic-looking features, straight nose, square jaw, but had a much different demeanor, severe and serious and not altogether friendly.

She hoped Asher was the one bringing Laurel over. They didn’t let her go anywhere alone, due to still being paranoid about her father being out there somewhere, waiting. Lily was mated so there was no point there, but who knew if he would decide to come for Laurel. If he’d have the balls to.

The knock resounded throughout the house again, and she shouted down that they were coming and heard a girlish giggle in response.

When she made it downstairs, Lucas opened the door for her, and Laurel ran into her arms, squeezing the air out of her. She immediately started pouring out her heart about everything that had happened and the fun she was having with Lucas’s brothers and how she’d been missing Lily.

Above her, Lucas and Lily hared a bemused grin.

Behind them, Asher stood watching with folded arms and a grim expression.

Lily had to laugh at his solemn face. “What’s wrong, Asher? How are things going with my kid sister?”

Laurel looked up at her, beaming as she took her arm and guided her into the kitchen. “Things are going great!” she leaned in to whisper conspiratorially. “More than great. Oh my gosh, Lucas’s brothers are so hot. I can’t decide who I want. Asher’s fine, but Jordan’s like the hottest person in the world…”

“Thanks,” Asher said in a deadpan voice.

“No offense. I just have a thing for bad boys,” she called back.

“That’s fine, except at your age, you should have a thing for no boys,” he called back.

“I’m only four years younger than you,” she spat, and Lucas and Lily separated them with a shared eye roll.

“Where’s Jordan?” Lucas asked, looking behind them.

“Couldn’t come,” Asher said. “Had some sort of meeting that majorly pissed him off. Did you hear they’re getting him a PR rep? Hilarious.”

“PR rep?”

“Yeah, apparently, despite all his wins, he’s coming off as really unlikeable, so they hired some lady to help him out.”

Lucas frowned. “They hired a
lady
. To work with Jordan?”

Asher shrugged. “May God have mercy on her soul.”

They laughed as Lily and Laurel shared puzzled looks. Then they all settled at the kitchen table as Lucas locked the door and went to get them drinks.

Lily grinned as she watched him work. This all felt so right. Their home, their family.

Just in one week with Lucas, she’d felt like everything was different now. She looked forward to each new day. For once, she wasn’t living in fear, and she loved knowing Laurel was happy too, even if she seemed to be an expert at getting on Asher’s nerves.

Lucas put glasses and a pitcher of lemonade on the counter and poured a glass specifically for Lily. He gave her a kiss on the cheek as he leaned down to place it in front of her. She blushed and looked over at the others, but they were busy arguing again, so she leaned back into Lucas’s embrace to share a quiet moment with him.

Lucas bent down to whisper in her ear. “I can’t wait to get you alone again,” he said.

“Me too,” she whispered back.

Then he sat beside her and they held hands, just treasuring the quiet joy that came from being next to the ones you love and knowing you get to keep them forever.
