Chapter Forty-Four

Tonight’s the night
.
I’m actually going to do this
.

Sabrina couldn’t be any more nervous than she was right at this moment. She wasn’t about to let Zander go for anything in the world. All she had to do was get through this dinner at Jax’s and Sahara’s house for a little while longer.

When he first showed up at her house and invited her to this double date dinner, Sabrina thought about not going since she already planned for tonight to be about them. However, she didn’t want to disappoint Zander and agreed to come. Once they were alone she would tell him her big news that she loved him enough to let him turned her into a vampire.  She couldn’t wait until she saw his face.

How could she possibly think about dying and leaving her man alone?  She must have been out of her mind the night they made love when she turned him down.

It pained her deeply to ever think he would live the rest of his life without her at his side. Nothing in her life mattered if she didn’t have him with her. It might have taken her a while to see what was right in front of her face, but she was there now and
nothing
was going to stop her from living out her destiny.

“Sabrina, what are you doing out here all alone?”

Glancing over her shoulder, she spotted Sahara standing behind her. She still found it so hard to believe that pretty soon she and Sahara would have something more in common than being in love with vampires.

“I was enjoying the scenery. You have such a beautiful home. The view out here is amazing. I would be outside on this patio every night relaxing under the stars,” she answered.

“You’re right. The landscape out here is breathtaking. I wish I could be out here more, but I spend so much time in the studio that I can’t do it.  However, I didn’t come out here to talk about the stars.” Sahara took a seat next to her on the patio. “Since the guys are inside doing their thing, I wanted come out here and apologize for my behavior the other day in Zander’s office. I shouldn’t have gotten in your face like I did.  Jax is always telling me that I should keep my opinions to myself.”

“I wasn’t upset.  I know how much you love Zander. All of you are so close and I don’t blame you for speaking up about him. I would have done the same thing for my brother. Besides, we talked that night and I know everything.”

Sahara instantly perked up right before her eyes. “You do. Thank God,” she sighed. “I’m so glad Zander finally told you about the sleep of the dead. I mean I almost found out too late when it came to Jax. Can you believe the curse on their family?

“I almost died when he told me that if he didn’t change me before or on his four hundredth birthday that he would die. I came so close to losing my mate. I know I wouldn’t have been able to go on without Jax. I love him so much.”

Why didn’t Zander tell me about this
?

She didn’t know how in the hell to answer Sahara. Zander never mentioned the sleep of the dead. He could actually die if she didn’t let him change her into a vampire.  Why wouldn’t he tell her something so important? Did he think she wouldn’t care? She was in love with him and wanted to make a life with him. How could she do any of this if he wasn’t completely honest with her?

She’d asked him if there was anything else and he’d sworn to her that there wasn’t. He loved her enough to die.  No, she couldn’t let him do this for her. She had to get Zander to change her tonight.

“Hmmm...could you tell Zander that I’m ready to leave?”

“Are you okay?” Sahara asked, touching her on the back of the hand. “Is there something wrong?”

“No, I have a surprise waiting for him back at my house and I want to give it to Zander before it gets too late.”

Sahara grinned at her as she stood up. “Oh, I know about those surprises. Jax loves it when I give them to him. Let me go and drag them away from Alpha Male Incorporated business. Why don’t you head on to the car and I’ll have him meet you there. Thanks again for coming over for dinner. I had a great time.”

“So did I,” Sabrina answered, watching as Sahara walked away from her.

She wasn’t interested in talking anymore about dinner. All she wanted to do was find a way to get Zander to change her before he found out she knew about the sleep of the dead. She already made up her mind before she found out and now she had to make it happen even more.

“Did you have a good time tonight?” Zander asked, shutting the front door behind them. “I thought you and Sahara hit it off pretty good over dinner.”

“Dinner was nice, but I would have rather stayed here and did something with you,” Sabrina told him. “I wanted to cook us a special dinner at home and then do something sexy for our dessert.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked, wondering what kind of ‘dessert’ his mate had in mind for them. He hadn’t made love to her in days and his body was craving to be with hers again.

“I could tell how much you wanted to go over there so I agreed, but we are home now so how about that treat I had planned.” Walking up to him, Sabrina wrapped her arms around his neck pressing her body closer to his. “You looked so good tonight. I had such a hard time keeping my hands to myself at your brother’s house.”

Placing his arms around her waist, he tugged his mate fully against him loving how well they fit together. “What has gotten into you tonight?” Zander asked, loving the change in Sabrina. He liked how she was making the moves on him tonight.

“Nothing,” she answered, leaning back staring up into his face. “Don’t you like me flirting with you, sweetheart?”

His lips turned into a full smile. “Can’t you feel how much I’m getting into this new side of you?” He grabbed her hips and held her to his fast growing erection.

Sabrina felt her breath rush from her body. “I love you so much. I want to be with you forever, Zander.”

Zander froze. He honestly didn’t know how much more he could take of this. The sensation of hearing those words, they felt both wonderful and torturous all at the same thing, but was Sabrina really telling him what he thought she was?

“Baby, do you know what you’re telling me? Please...please...tell me you are accepting your fate as my mate. I can’t handle much more.” He was hovering between a state of utter bliss and sheer frustration when it came to the stunning woman in his arms.

“I shouldn’t have kept you waiting as long as I have. I was acting like a girl when you needed a woman. I’m ready to be the woman you need in your life. I want to become your mate in every true sense of the word. Bite me, turn me and make me yours forever.”

“Sabrina baby, you know once I do this there’s no turning back from it.” He stroked the side of his mate’s face, getting lost in the love he saw shining in her eyes.

He was used to his fair share of women lusting for him over the years, but none of them had love in their eyes for him the way Sabrina did tonight. He felt a warm rush of immediate satisfaction rising inside of him.

“I’m tired of looking back. I want to look forward and the only person I want to do that with is you,” she said. “You’re the man for me. I can’t ever see myself with anyone else.”

Gently, Zander brushed his thumb over her bottom lip. He wasn’t going to blow this by moving too fast and not giving Sabrina the night she deserved because she was changing the most important part of herself to spend the rest of her days with him.

Swinging her soft body up into his arms, he carried Sabrina over to the couch lying her down on the cushions. He lay down on top of her, so his cock was pressed between her warm thighs. He grabbed his mate’s wrists holding them down at the side of her head.

Lowering his head, Zander planted slow, tender kisses along the side of her neck and across the top of her breasts exposed by the V-cut dress she’d chosen to wear for the dinner date at his brother’s house tonight.

Sabrina moaned in pleasure as she spread her legs wider grinding her pussy against his throbbing erection. Minutes later, she started releasing little mewling sounds as he began thrusting back and forth against her welcoming heat.

When he finally kissed his mate their lips met in a hot, fiery tongue dueling kiss that had his cock swelling and growing making his pants even tighter.

She felt Zander’s long fingers as they pushed up the hem of her dress past her hips until they reached their destination. He placed the pad of his thumb against her underwear applying a little pressure. He moved in a circular motion making her squirm and whisper under his bold touch.

“Zander, I want you so badly,” she whimpered.

He wanted her too, but it was more than that; he desired to capture her heart completely tonight and make her feel that she hadn’t truly lived her life until tonight. As he raked his eyes over her body, Zander knew Sabrina was the woman he had been looking to stay faithful for and who could keep him happy for the rest of eternity.

Leaning down, he kissed one of her plump breasts. “You are so amazing. I love everything about you. I could get lost in your body.”

Moving his body, Zander slowly removed each article of his mate’s clothing until Sabrina was lying naked beneath him. He ran his palms over her nipples rolling back and forth turning them into hard peaks.

“Oh...my...God,” Sabrina called out as her orgasm shot through her.

“Damn sweetheart, you look so good when you come for me,” he said, smiling. “Let me see if I can make it even better.”

As Zander got off the couch, Sabrina tried to get her senses together as she watched him undress. She drank in the sight of his hard toned body as he literally stripped out of his clothes. She couldn’t believe this handsome man was all hers.

Moving her eyes off his chest, she let them wandered down his body until they landed on his huge cock. This was the first time she had taken the opportunity to really look at him. Not only was her mate big, but he was long as well and her body grew even wetter at the thought of him being inside of her.

“Are you ready?” Zander asked as he rejoined her on the couch. “I’ll understand if you want more time to think about it. I know this is a very big decision for you.”

Sabrina ran her hand down the side of Zander’s face. “I’ve waited too long for this to happen. What else do I have to think about? How can I let you suffer from the sleep of the dead when I can prevent it from happening?”

Zander froze. “How do you know about my family’s curse? Who told you?” He didn’t need any damn sympathy acceptance from his mate.

“Don’t get upset,” Sabrina said, reaching out to touch him as he started to pull away from her. “I was going to tell you I wanted to get turned before I talked to her tonight.”

“Shit! Sahara should have kept her mouth shut. It isn’t supposed to happen like this. You need to come to me on your own.” He jerked his arm away from Sabrina and got up. “I can’t go through with this...not tonight.”

“Don’t you dare walk away from me, Zander Irizarry. Who do you think you are? You can’t take me this far and then not follow through.” Jumping up from the couch, she stood directly in front of her man. “I wanted to be with you way before Sahara said anything to me tonight. I thought about it all last night and it hit me. I wouldn’t have anything without you in my life. Yeah, I have a good career, but who do I come home and talk about with it at night. No one and I hate it. All the times I’m around you are the best of my life and I want them to go on forever.”

Wrapping his hands around her upper arms, Zander pulled her fully against his hard naked body. She watched as his eyes slowly turned from a clear gray to a stormy gray right before her face.

“Don’t tell me you want me and not mean it. I’m way past playing games with you,” he warned softly. “It’s very dangerous to tempt a vampire and not follow through.”

Sabrina drank in the sight of her man all angry and ready to take control. She loved it! “Baby, I’m not playing with you. You have nothing to worry about. All I need is for you to stop talking and make me yours unless you aren’t up for it anymore.”

“I’ll show you who isn’t ready.” Scooping her up into his arms, Zander laid her back down on the couch. He hovered above her body.  Lowering his head, he kissed her fiercely as he spread her legs and thrust,  filling her to the hilt, making her cry out in pure pleasure.

“Zander, I...” Sabrina moaned, tossing her head from side to side.

It had never been this good before. He couldn’t get enough. His mate was so hot, wet and tight when she cried out his name; it sent him over the edge to a place he never thought he would reach in his life.

Zander licked his way across her body until he stopped at her neck. He allowed his fangs to fully descend and then he bit her drawing the sweet taste of his mate’s blood into his mouth. He drank for a few second before easing his mouth away.

Zander raked his fingernail across his chest drawing blood. He gently raised Sabrina’s head pressing her lips against the blood dripping over his skin. “Sweetheart, drink this. Let it fill your mouth and bind us together forever.”

Opening her mouth, his mate pressed her lips against his chest and sucked his blood into her mouth. As Sabrina drank his blood, he continued to pound into her tight, welcoming pussy as he connected them for eternity.

“Okay, baby. That’s enough.” Zander removed Sabrina’s lips and kissed her.

The taste of him on her mouth sent whatever control he had over the edge at the same time as the same pleasure consumed Sabrina’s body pushing them both over the brink as everything faded to black.

Sitting at the very end of the bar, he tossed back another Jack and Coke pissed that he hadn’t figure out a plan to get rid of Sahara yet. His son’s birthday was tomorrow and here he sat drinking instead of getting things done.

Hell, he couldn’t let that bitch and her Uncle Frank get away with what they had done for any longer. He needed a damn good idea and soon or he wasn’t about to keep his promise.

“Fuck!” he snapped, slamming down his glass on the bar. Why weren’t things working out for him? How could he have gotten this far only to fail? It wasn’t right. Well, he wasn’t about to let all of his plans go to hell. He had a promise to keep and he sure in the hell was going to do it no matter who he had to hurt to accomplish it.
