It then went into a rapid series of thoughts that passed through his head at a rate so insane it was a wonder brain matter didn't start oozing out of his ears from overheating.
His thoughts were as follows:
'Ohmygod! Ohmygod! Ohmygod! She'sgoingtokissme! Ohmygod! Ohmygod! Ohmygod! Thoseboobs! Ohmygod! Ohmygod! WhatdoIdo!? WhatdoIdo!?'
Yeah, they went a little something like that, only more frantic and even harder to understand.
(Un?)fortunately, she didn't kiss him, but it's not like what she did was much better for his blood pressure. She pressed her forehead against his, bringing their faces so close that Kevin could make out every millimeter of her flawless, unblemished skin and lovely facial features.
This was the first time he had been in such an intimate position with any girl ― Kevin was not going to count when his head had been lying on her lap, he had been unconscious for most of that anyways. Ever.
It was overstimulating.
"Are you alright?"
Wide blue eyes met concerned green. Lilian's breath washed over his mouth, her lips mere inches from his own. She was so close that her pleasant, natural scent was invading his nose, addling his mind. He was beginning to feel light headed again. And his stomach was churning.
Dear God! He really was going to die if this kept up!
"Wha... Wha... Wha..." somehow, miraculously, Kevin found the strength of will to speak, even though his mind and body were very close to shutting down again. "What the hell are you doing!?"
His shout startled Lilian enough that he was able to slip out from under her nude body and out of her grasp. He crawled backwards on hands and feet like some kind of crab, trying to put as much distance between him and this strange, naked girl as possible.
"What do you mean?" Lilian tilted her head and blinked several times. "I was just checking to see if you're alright."
"That's not what I meant!" Kevin practically shrieked as he tried to keep his cool. It wasn't working too well, especially when his eyes found her perfectly rounded breasts again. He was beginning to feel sick. If this kept up, he might end up losing what was left of his lunch.
Kevin jerked his head away so he wouldn't stare. A little too late for that, boy.
"It's not?" Lilian tilted her head. "Then what were you talking about?"
"Why are you naked!?"
Lilian tilted her head the other way, an adorable look of confusion on her face. Don't throw up, Kevin. Don't throw up.
"I don't have any clothes to wear." The way she said that made it sound like it should have been obvious.
"What do you mean you don't have any clothes!?" Kevin's voice was very high pitched. "You can't just go walking around naked! You must have something you can put on!?" His voice was pleading by the end.
"No," Lilian shook her head, "I lost my clothes a while ago. I lost them a few hours before you rescued me."
Naturally, Kevin, in his panic, embarrassment and the slew of other emotions he was feeling but couldn't place, completely missed her words about him rescuing her.
It wouldn't do if The Plot, or at least a subplot, was revealed to quickly. That's not how things work in a Shōnen manga.
"Guh...." Kevin buried his face in his hands. "This cannot be happening," he mumbled. "There's no way there can be a naked girl in my room. This is just a dream. A really bad dream."
Lilian frowned at Kevin's mumbling. Her frown increased as she looked down at her nude frame. After a few seconds of silently contemplating her own body, she looked back up at Kevin.
"Does it bother you that I'm naked?" She sounded very disappointed. "Do you not find me appealing?"
"That's not the point!" Kevin wished he could crawl into a hole and die. Or wake up from this nightmare, for this could be nothing less. An incredibly erotic nightmare, but a nightmare nonetheless.
Rubbing his face with his hands in frustration, he tried to make his reasoning for her clear. "You shouldn't be walking around naked in front of others! It...―it isn't appropriate!"
"But, you're my mate," Lilian pointed out, as if these words solved everything. "It's perfectly acceptable if you see me like this."
"Mate?" Kevin blinked. What the hell did that mean? Was she talking about... surely she wasn't saying that he and her were...?
He blushed, unable to think about the implications of her statement.
Kevin was easily embarrassed like that.
"Yes," Lilian gave him a truly beautiful smile. Kevin felt his face heating up just from looking at it. "You took care of me when I was injured. You treated me with kindness and compassion instead of scorn like some of the other human boys who have seen me like that did." She placed a hand against her bare breast. Kevin's eyes were invariably drawn to it. He hadn't thought his face could get any redder then it was now. He had been wrong, apparently. "You don't know how much your kindness meant to me. Of the warmth I felt when you treated me so tenderly and lovingly. I haven't been able to get it out of my mind."
Kevin thought the girl was beautiful before, but when she began blushing, he thought he might actually die of moe. A girl with such a killer body should not be able to look so dang adorable.
"Is it any wonder that I've fallen in love you?"
For that single moment, Kevin's entire world came to a screeching halt. He stared at the girl with wide eyes. She did not just say what he thought she said.
"I'm sorry, but did you just say that you're in love with me?"
Surely she was going to say that she wasn't, that he had just been hearing things. Yes, he must have heard her wrong. That was it. He just had something crazy in his ears and had misheard what she said or misconstrued her words.
Lilian tilted her head to the side, wondering if he had really just asked her that, then nodded. "Yes."
Dammit.
"You don't even know me!" Kevin very nearly shouted. Lilian jumped in surprise. "How could you possibly love me when we've never even met until just a few hours ago?"
"What do you mean?" Lilian pressed a finger to her lips, her brows furrowed cutely. "Of course I love you."
"You can't fall in love with someone you don't even know!"
"Eh? Why not?" Lilian crossed her arms and pouted at him. "I've thought about this long and hard, you know." Yeah, because the little bit of time that she had known him was a really long time. Definitely long enough for her to make a decision like this. Yeah right. "I love you."
Kevin felt a headache coming on. Rubbing his forehead, he tried to think about what he should do about this strange, beautiful girl who had, for some reason he simply couldn't fathom, decided she was in love with him. There had to be something he could say that would convince her she was not in love with him. Right?
Good luck with that.
"Look, you can't just fall in love with someone you only just met a few hours ago," he started, only to inexplicably stop after making the mistake of looking at her again. Almost immediately, blood began rushing to his face.
He tried to look away, to look at anything other than the enchanting female, sitting on his carpet. It wouldn't do to find himself distracted by her beauty, or to pass out when he was trying to explain why she couldn't be in love with him. That would be bad. Really bad.
It was while he was trying not to look at the femme in front of him that he noticed it again. The fury red appendage with the white tip that he had seen only a minute before had curved around Lilian's body and was now resting across her lap, hiding the treasure between her legs. His curiosity got the better of him.
"What is that?"
"Hmm?" Lilian tilted her head in curiosity. "What is what?"
"That," Kevin pointed at the red... thing in her lap. He had seen it before, but it couldn't possibly be what he thought it was. No. That was just crazy. "What is that?"
Lilian looked down at where he was pointing. "Oh! You mean my tail?"
"Tail?" Kevin murmured. Well, it certainly looked like a tail. It was large and bushy and red and had a white tip. It looked like a larger version of one of the tails he had seen on that fox he rescued.
Speaking of which, just where was that fox anyways?
He's not very bright, this Kevin. Or maybe this is what they call denial?
Lilian looked up and smiled. "Would you like to see it?"
Before Kevin could tell her that, no, he did not want to see her tail (and boy was that a really bad pun), the girl was already moving.
Pushing herself back onto her hands and knees, the red haired female slowly turned around, revealing her bare backside to Kevin.
Kevin's eyes widened and his pupils dilated. Blood flowed into his cheeks and his breathing picked up as he found himself staring at more perfection. Starting from her slender shoulders, Kevin's eyes traveled down her frame, taking in the delicate curve of her back as it flowed into the small, shapely and perfectly formed rear end that would have made the likes of Eric salivate.
Did everything about this girl have to be so dang sexy?
As Kevin found himself trying to look away from the sight, his eyes finally found what they had been talking about. Her tail. Jutting out from her tail bone just above where her firm looking, peach shaped butt began was a furry red tail with a white tip. Really, it was almost impossible to miss. Just how he had missed it was beyond him.
It's called shock. It's also called a Plot Device, but let's not get into that right now.
"A tail," Kevin found himself muttering as Lilian (thankfully) turned back around and sat back down on her thighs. Not that it did much good because there was just as much to look at on her front as there was her backside, but Kevin did his best to ignore all that. "You have a tail."
"And ears," Lilian said, smiling, "Don't forget about my ears."
"Ears?" Kevin found himself blinking as he stared at her head and saw what she was talking about. Sticking out of her head and parting her beautiful crimson tresses were two long, fury red animal ears with white tips. They were currently standing upright and perky on her head.
How the heck had he missed those?
Such is the power of a woman's innate sexiness. It possessed the ability to make men go blind to all but her body, with everything else relegated to the background. He would realize this, eventually.
"Those are fox ears," Kevin, being the animal lover that he was, recognized the ears for what they were despite the fact that they were sitting on the head of a girl around his age for some reason he still couldn't fathom. Cosplay maybe? "And that's a fox tail."
"Of course they are," Lilian nodded to his words. "I'm a Kitsune. It's only natural I would have fox ears and tails."
"Kitsune?" Kevin blinked. He knew that term, vaguely, but he still knew it. "You mean those supernatural creatures from Japanese mythology?" Kevin tried to recall what he knew about them. "Those are fox's that can shape-shift into humans and generally cause a lot of mischief, right?" If this girl was a Kitsune, it probably didn't bode well for him.
"I have no idea why people think we came from Japan." Lilian pouted, folding her arms under her bust which inevitably pushed up her breasts. Kevin gulped. "It's not like all Kitsune live in Japan. We're pretty much spread across the globe. My family is from Greece. Well," Lilian looked up in thought, "my mom actually came from England, but we've lived in Greece for as long as I can remember."
"Is... ―is that so?" Kevin tried to wrap his mind around what he was being told. Needless to say, it wasn't easy. "So... You're a Kitsune?"
Lilian nodded and smiled. "Yes."
"A real life Kitsune?"
"Of course silly," Lilian giggled. "What else would I be?"
"Oh... okay," Kevin nodded...
...And then he passed out... again... for the second time that day.
He wouldn't realize it until much later, or maybe he did and just didn't fully understand all the implications, but from that day onwards, his life would be forever changed.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Yōkai.
Chapter 6: Stolen First Kiss
Kevin's rise from half asleep to at least partially awake was a surprisingly slow process the next day. Granted, it normally took him a while to wake up, but today it was even slower than usual.
Of course, when one thought about it, maybe it really wasn't so surprising. After all, it wasn't everyday you learned that Kitsune actually existed and that the tiny fox kit you rescued a little over a day ago just happened to be one of them. That would catch anyone off guard.
One also had to take into account that said Kitsune wasn't just a Kitsune, but also an extraordinarily beautiful girl, and one who was apparently in love with him. If the fact that all those myths on Kitsune were real didn't cause enough shock to make someone pass out, then having a beautiful, naked female with foxy features claiming, for all intents and purposes, to be your soul mate, would. Especially if your name was Kevin Swift.
Yes, allowances had to be made for someone who'd had so many shocking revelations thrown at him within such a short time span.
