She opened the delicate stationary and read the words written on it.
Tate Baker and Angie Larkin would like to know if you, Kelly Larkin, would allow Tate Baker to not only become Angie’s father, but to become your husband as well. What do you say? Will you marry me, Kelly? Angie’s waiting. And so am I.
Kelly glanced up from the paper, tears filled her eyes. There in front of her, Tate and Angie had each gotten down on one bended knee. Tate held an opened royal blue velvet box with a bright sparking diamond ring in it, and Angie held up a sign that said.
Please say yes, Mom.
Her lips curled upward even through her nervous laugh. She clutched the paper to her chest. Playing along, she looked at her daughter. “Angie, would you please tell Tate my answer is yes.”
“Tell him yourself!” Angie leapt up and jumped and hopped around the living room, singing, “Tate’s going to be my daddy. Tate’s going to be my daddy.”
Tate rose and pulled Kelly into his arms, his brown eyes soft with love. “Ever since that day we went tree hunting, I wanted the three of us to become a forever thing. Thank you for making that possible.” He claimed her lips and Kelly melted into him.
In the background Angie changed her song to, “We’re going to be a forever thing. We’re going to be a forever thing. Mom, what’s a forever thing?”
Kelly and Tate laughed even as they sealed their forever thing with a kiss.
