ZACH

He laughs.

Babe, come on. Don’t even joke. But, yes, if Leith breaks his promise to never forget me again

LEITH

Not going to happen. I never break promises.

ZACH

Maybe we should knock on wood.

They both rap their knuckles on the table.

LEITH

Seriously, I won’t forget you, though. I have a very good memory for an amnesiac.

So yes, before this gets any more ridiculous, we’ll say goodbye.

He waves to the camera.

See you next week!
Mwah
!

Bye!

He turns to Zach.

Wait, who are you?

ZACH

Shut up. I love you.

LEITH

I love you too. It’s…Rick, right? No wait, don’t tell me. Zeke? Am I getting warmer?

ZACH

You’re triggering PTSD in me, asshole.

LEITH

He grins.

Let me kiss it better.

The End
Author's Notes

First, I’d like to apologize for the oversimplification of amnesia and brain trauma. I did a lot of research into both, but in the end decided that the purpose of this story was to have fun exploring the well-worn romance cliché of amnesia and the romance of falling in love all over again. For that reason I downplayed the reality of the medical side of things, and I hope you’re able to suspend disbelief to enjoy the story.

Second, I’d like to thank all of the amazing readers out there who have read and enjoyed my other books

inspiring me, supporting me, and generally making my dreams of being an author come true. No book is complete without a reader, and all of you hold a dear place in my heart. Thank you!

Thank you to inspiration in unexpected places. Thank you to Eknath Easwaran and Carole L. Flinders, especially.

Thank you to my beta readers for their excellent help: Jed, Cindy, Keira, and Indra. And thank you to Tracy and Beth for reading through very early versions.

Thank you to Keira Andrews for a wonderful, amazing editing job and for her dedicated friendship.

Thank you to Jed, Kim, Liza, Rachel, and Jacyn for years of friendship and love.

Thank you to my parents and in-laws for absolutely everything. And thank you to my daughter for being so understanding when imaginary people demand Mommy’s attention. Thank you to my husband for his love, faith, and unfailing encouragement.

All my best,

Leta Blake

About the Author

While Leta Blake would love to tell you that writing transports her to worlds of magic and wonder and then safely returns her to a home of sparkling cleanliness and carefully folded laundry, the reality is a bit different. Instead, piles of laundry and forgotten appointments haunt her life, but the joy of writing and the thrill of finishing a book make the everyday chaos all worth it.

Leta’s educational and professional background is in psychology and finance, respectively, but her passion has always been in writing, and she most enjoys crafting romance stories that she would like to read. At her home in the Southern U.S., Leta works hard at achieving balance between her day job, her writing, and her family.
