PART ONE: The Gift in You
INTRODUCTION
What is your gift?
What do you have inside of you that no one else has?
Maybe no one ever told you that you have a gift.
Maybe you've been told over and over that you have a special gift but haven't really been able to believe it.
Maybe you have discovered your particular gift but haven't been living or growing in it to the greatest potential.
Many people never uncover their gifts, which is a tragedy.
You have a divinely pre-wired gift - a gift God has placed within you - and in that gift you have everything you need to achieve your unique and marvelous purpose.
You can discover what your gift is and, by learning its structure, begin to thrive in it.
Over twenty years ago, when I first started researching the science of thought, I could not have predicted that the science of neurons, dendrites and cells could help unlock potential,
giftings
and freedom. That's why I'm so passionate about the science of thought.
Understanding how our gifts are structured is just the beginning, but once we start the process, we launch out into a lifetime of lasting change. Your purpose is to live beyond yourself, but you can't share your gift if it's hidden. You can't live in your purpose if you aren't operating in your gift. You can't grow into your God-ordained self if your gift is blocked.
In Part Two, the Gift Profile, the 210-question journey will help you gain a better understanding of how you are uniquely gifted and how your gift is structured.
In Part Three, you will learn how to live out your gift.
Exploring the twelve gift-blockers in Part Four will help you recognize what might be standing in your way of operating fully in your gift.
But first let's look closely at the science of thought - how your brain really works and why your gifting might surprise you.
CHAPTER ONE:
{UNCOVERING YOUR HIDDEN GIFT}
"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb"
(Jeremiah 1:5 NLT).
Your gift is the missing piece. It's always an answer and never a problem. It is unique, intentional, having a purpose, design and measurable structure.
Since we all crave to be accepted and welcomed, sometimes we compare our gifts to others', attempting to measure if we belong; but that's like trying to reshape your fingerprint to match someone else's - impossible.
When you read about someone else's accomplishments and adopt his or her roadmap as your own, you will limit where your gift can take you. You can only be you. Who you are at the core will leak out, no matter how much you suppress it. In God's truth, the true you is meant to glorify, to love, to reach beyond yourself, but you cannot grow into the fullest expression of God's creation if you live in doubt or unrest, if you constantly undermine your gift by trying to copy other people's.
In order to sustain a consistent outlook and pattern, your thoughts, your words, your spirit and your actions must line up. That means when you say something that your brain doesn't "believe" - if your statement isn't part of you on a cellular level - it is unsustainable.
Neurologically, you are not wired for someone else's gift. You can try as hard as you want. You can listen to as many teachings as you possibly can. You can buy all the books with an instant formula for a business mogul's success. You can adopt all of the popular motivational sayings. But even then, you will never have someone else's gift.
