So that’s it then? You
don’t want anything to do with me?”

Barry I think it’s best I
love you from afar. It will never be safe for you and I don’t want
to risk your life again because I wanted one night of fun with you.
That’s all I wanted tonight. I just wanted to show you how I felt
and I trusted that you would make sure I got home on time. For that
I am sorry. I should’ve known better.”

No…you don’t have to
explain anything to me Mary. It is what it is. Let’s just get you
home and hopefully we can fix everything that’s broken between
us.”

Barry I don’t know if
that’s possible.”

You have a demon tied to
you for the rest of your life. Before tonight I didn’t believe such
things could be possible. Now I know better, so anything is
possible.”

Giggling, Mary nodded her head and ran
into Barry’s arms. Inhaling the scent of her hair Barry felt his
body warming to her touch and as dangerous as being her friend
could be, he decided right then he would never leave her side
again. No matter how many demons he’d have to face.

Let’s get outta here,” he
whispered in her ear.

As they walked hand in hand to the
door a massive force crashed into the doors, almost breaking them
in half. Barry pushed Mary behind him and backed away.

Mary I thought you said
that thing was gone!”

Oh shit! That’s not the
demon Barry. That’s my dad! He’s pissed you didn’t bring me home
last night!”
