"Even though I walk through the valley in the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me..."

Chapter 1:

Have Your Cake…

MAYBE I
should be ashamed, but food has always been one of my weaknesses. The taste, the feel, and the way it sweetly rolls over my tongue. Eating a good slice of cake is like making love without all the heartache. That’s what I told myself as I indulged, swearing men off forever.

My mother always told me the good ones come around once in a lifetime, and maybe she’s right. Trouble was, the bad ones seem to pop up all the time. They never seemed so bad at first, saying the right things, acting the right way. Of course, it was never long before everything changed. They would start treating me with less and less respect. Sometimes the abuse would get physical, sometimes they’d go the subtle emotional route. Mark was the most recent, and the reason I was staring down the quad chocolate sinful monster on my plate.

“I think maybe we should start seeing other people.”

The words cut me. I’d put up with every one of his abuses, both mental and physical. It doesn’t help that I’m attracted to the bad ones… I kept telling myself he loved me, despite the violence and verbal attacks. I even stuck it out after I noticed the way he stared at other women. I did everything I could to make myself fit into his fantasy. None of it mattered. I was sitting there in the best shape in my life, curves and all, beautiful and strong and willing. His ambivalence to my efforts made me physically ill.

My mouth closed on another bite of chocolate cake, savoring the sweet taste.

His loss. He couldn’t see what I was worth? He wanted to “see” other people? I kicked him out of my apartment and didn’t look back. A month later, I was finally starting to feel like myself again. I’d never felt better.

The fork lifted again, a tall tower of dark delicious flavor teetering dangerously, threatening to fall on my blouse. I opened my plump pink lips, tongue darting out just slightly to catch a crumb as I slid the bite between my teeth. I shuddered a bit in my seat, the wonderful taste hitting all of my buttons, a smile on my face as I swallowed. It really was sex on a plate.

And
he
was still watching.

If I had to admit it, I’d been putting on a little show ever since I caught him glancing at me from the bar. I peeked again, letting a hint of a smile cross my face as he quickly looked away. My peeping tom wasn’t just some average Joe in a crappy little neighborhood bar and grill. He’d walked in an hour ago and sat down for a drink, making one agitated phone call after another. I looked him over, taking in the lean muscular figure hidden under a dark shirt, battle-worn jeans, and leather vest covered in patches.

A biker…

Even from halfway across the restaurant, sitting alone in my little booth with my pity party cake, I could see he was trouble. The exact kind of trouble I always ended up getting myself into. My eyes drifted upward, and found him staring right back, surveying me like a predator preparing for a kill…

My grin widened as I wiped some chocolate from my plate, licking my finger a little too long to be simply tasting the flavor. Let’s be clear on this. He was HOT. Hot enough to make me forget about my newest no-man pledge. His interest in me and the way his voice had changed on the phone from the minute he’d caught my eye made this whole little long distance exchange all the more exciting. My plate cleaned, I decided to put an end to my silly butterflies. Standing, I crossed the room, joining the mysterious man at the bar.

“I’m Kayla, and it sounds like you have a problem,” I said as confidently as I could muster. The words still squeaked out, a bit less sure than I would have liked. The man jumped in his seat and turned slowly to lock eyes again. He clearly wasn’t expecting this.

His eyes… Oh god help me his eyes…

You see eyes like this sometimes, the kind that make your knees weak. Deep blue green pools of wonder sat on the man’s face, a place for my soul to swim and frolic. They were enough to make you forget about the tattoos and the scars. The smile that grew on his squared cheeks only enhanced the man, drawing the eyes into the action and putting off a feeling I can’t really describe. My mouth let out a little sigh, betraying my imagination.

“Classic Harley. People told me I needed two of them because one would always be in the shop. Guess I rode the wrong one today.”

I laughed, noticing the beautiful bike dressed in chrome outside the windows. A flatbed tow truck was busy loading the bike, the flashing yellow caution lights blazing in the evening darkness. Meanwhile, my nose inhaled deeply, letting the scent of sandalwood and leather dance along my senses. I didn’t know what cologne this man was wearing, but I knew I’d never forget it. I did what any woman would do when a man’s scent works magic on the senses. I touched him, my fingertips brushing against the leather vest. The man smiled, shifting slightly, pressing against my hand.

“Why don’t you ride with the others?” I asked, waving toward the group of men mounting their bikes outside.

“Ride bitch with the club?”

I laughed. The idea of this man riding on the back of a bike was pretty funny.

“Wouldn’t be a problem I they could get me a cab out here. They say it’ll be two hours. Least the beer is good.”

His hand came down on my thigh, returning my touch in a way that almost seemed absentminded. He was flirting with me, no question. I could feel the heat radiating off him, the strength behind his fingers, as if I could trace the muscles and tendons right back to his strong chest. My heart swooned just a little as his hand traced upward, higher, and higher.

The man kept smiling. “I’m Famine, and I’m pretty sure I could spend all night here eyeing you up, but… I think I’m enjoying this a bit more.

Sparks ran up my skin as his callused fingers gripped my leg. “You know, I was starting to think this was going to be a shitty night.”

“I changed your mind already?”

He smiled, and my brain about melted right out of my head.

“Buy you a drink?”

“Oldest line in the book.”

“It’s not a line, I’m just interested in seeing how you act with a bit of alcohol in there,” Famine said, his hand lifting and coming to rest on my stomach. “I’m guessing you’re lots of fun.”

“You don’t have to get me drinking to have fun,” I said back, gasping as he lifted me off the seat and deposited me on his lap.

“That so?” Famine whispered, brushing his lips up next to my ear. I shivered, a soft warm feeling radiating out from my neck.

I am so screwed…
I shifted slightly, feeling a bulge growing beneath the cloth of his tight jeans.

“Can I be totally honest with you Famine?”

“Of course…”

“I may have already had a few drinks…”

Famine laughed, his hand coming back down on my lap and swooping inward along my thigh, drawing up almost too close to my heat. I responded, shifting slightly again, his hard shaft rubbing lightly against me as I moved.

“In that case… Bartender, two shots, patron.”

We both laughed as he lay them out, slamming the shot. Famine followed it up by popping a lime into my mouth. I sucked on it lightly as Famine pulled it free, replacing it with a long index finger. Slurping almost absentmindedly I let it draw into my mouth, then out… Slowly.

Famine was staring at me, the lust unmistakable in his gaze.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” I asked, aloof as his hand climbed a bit higher on my leg, sliding inward.

His kiss came unexpectedly, and my brain poured out my ears. My lips melded with his as an arm wrapped around me, the other pressing delicately on my sensitive mound, then tracing upward along my side. We jockeyed for position, my legs shifting me off the chair and between his own, a hand reaching down to stroke the bulge running down his leg as I waged a voracious battle against his probing tongue.

Famine groaned, the kind of noise that made my knees buckle, so naturally I grabbed him even tighter. We drew apart a moment, sharing a lighthearted laugh between us before I crashed back into him for a second round. Our lips met, laboriously moving with skill and passion as we spoke to each other silent promises of the night ahead. You can tell a lot about a man’s capabilities in bed based on their kiss, and I knew right then, Famine wasn’t going to leave me unsatisfied. I let out a light moan, my tongue twirling around his own.

“You’re pretty straight forward, aren’t you Kayla?”

“You don’t know the half of it,” I whispered, still standing between his legs next to the barstool, working his button fly under cover of the bartop. I pulled his shaft free, blocking it from view as my hand stroked it. The alcohol was certainly having an effect. Even in the mostly deserted bar, this was a little risqué for my blood. If you want to play with the bad boys though…. Sometimes you gotta get a little dirty.

I was determined to get as much out of the night as I could. Famine was huge… I wanted to see more, and my mouth was getting a little antsy again. I’d spent half the night eating cake, and now I wanted something a little more savory.

How in the hell did yourself into this Kayla?
I thought, laughing as I pulled him up, dragging him toward the small bathroom round the side. He followed like I had him on a leash, my hand still wrapped around the end of his shaft.

If touching his cock under the bar was good, seeing it out in the open like this was mind blowing. I drew the elastic of his boxers up and over him as the door slammed shut, Famine’s hand reaching out to lock it. I knew the score. A guy like famine would use me just like all the others, but for a minute or two anyway, I was in total control. Somewhere, inside, I felt maybe this could be different than all the others.

I wrapped my hand around him, laughing because it wasn’t doing an adequate job. Famine was a two hander. Stroking his girth as best I could I shoved the boxers down, leaning in to give the thick head a little kiss. Famine drew a hard breath. “God damn Kayla, you’re turning a shitty night into a fucking good one.”

“Keep talking,” I whispered, bending at the hips and listing to his gasps as I licked along the shaft and swirled my tongue round the head like some kind of porn star. He shifted, the head of his cock popping between my lips, lining up.

“You have such a nice cock,” I whispered, parting my pink lips and drawing him between them. I reached down, cupping him as I slid downward, giving the dirtiest and sloppiest blow job I could manage. No use in having cake if you can’t eat it. His whole body was quivering, legs shaking against my hands as I propped myself up, unwilling to put my knees on the dirty floor.

“Fuck yeah baby,” Famine moaned as I felt the hard veins of his shaft pulsing against my tongue. I worked him deep, his hips bucking as the head of his cock bumped the back of my through lightly. Suppressing the urge to gag, I kept on going. I knew he was almost there. Famine couldn’t stop, he couldn’t control it, I took him deep and he blew his load, shot after shot splashing the inside of my mouth. I drank it in, the salty taste rolling down my throat. Something about the experience, the taboo nature of it, the setting, it just seemed right to swallow.

And Famine wasn’t complaining.

I pushed his softening cock back into his pants, buttoning the fly carefully. Standing up and falling into him. He held me tight, my eyes flashing to the mirror, trying to record the moment for future memories on cold and lonely nights…

“Are you going to fuck me, or what?” I said softly into his ear.

“You’re clearly a woman who knows how to get what you want, and I’ll give it to you, but before all that I’ve got to meet up with the Horsemen…”

“If you think that’s going to get me to take you home with me, I think you’re going to have to try a little harder..”

“I never said anything about going home.”

I sat back, swiping long strands of my hair away and putting my ample cleavage on display. “Already trying to get rid of me?”

“The club has a business deal to wrap up before morning. I know it’s forward ,but I need a ride and I can make it worth your while,” The silence was wrecked by the sound of roaring bikes tearing off into the night.

Worth my while…

“I’m not sure…”

“Don’t be coy Kayla. You’re a bit of a bad girl. It’s about time you explore that a little further.”

I didn’t respond, but it was all the confirmation Famine needed.

“You get a little thrill out of this. Little red riding hood out meeting the big bad wolf. You don’t want to know where the night is going to take you. Maybe you’re tired of predictability… Come with me, have a little fun for once.”

“I can. Yes, um. Parked around back there,” The words came out garbled. There was something about the way Famine held himself that had my imagination running wild and my tongue leading a revolt against my brain. “I’ll pull it around,” I said sheepishly.
