Yours Book 1: Losing My Innocence (22 page)

Acknowledgments

O
nce again thank
you all for all of your support. I put a lot in giving you the best that I can and I hope it shows in my writing. I thank you for your response to my work and your feedback and wonderful emails, comments, and reviews. You are all pure gold.

I
have held
on to this book for a long time for a number of reasons. Sephora is a special character to me and I hope you bare with me as she grows up before your eyes. It takes a while to outgrow insecurities when they are drilled into you by those closest to you. Especially when you don’t look the way people think you should. I purposely make my characters in various shades and shapes. I have grown up in a family and around friends that are unique and make people double take.

N
o one
, and I mean one should be made to feel like being dark skin or have light eyes or different textures and lengthen of hair define them. There is no such thing as being pretty for a dark skin girl. Or those eyes are fake because your skin is black. Do a google search if you don’t believe me. You will find that our limited vision limits our knowledge. So thank you for allowing me to represent all little girls and women. As well as young men and men. I will continue to mix it up because in the real world those individuals continue to exist.

S
o to my
cousins by blood and those by marriage, I acknowledge you exist and you deserve love stories too. To every little girl that has chocolate in her skin or who happens to be lighter and anyone in between, you are beautiful just as you are and not because of a shade of skin, eye color, or any other trait God chooses to bless you with.

I thank God for my comfort in my skin and in my pen. I am so grateful for the knowledge of spirit and heart. I do this with a pure heart and I am blessed with the love of my Source because I know myself in him. Once again to God, be all the Glory for my story. God is the Source of my talents. I am nothing and can do nothing without the Source of my being.

S
o let
’s turn up and make something awesome happen this year. I have a goal in mind for my writing. That means on to the next!

About the Author

B
lue Saffire is
a woman on a mission to share her words and thoughts with the world. She has find her passion in her pen and steams up the pages with her humor, honesty, love and voice. Blue represents the secret author inside that some of us are too scared to let out.

Blue and her family all enjoy life in the suburbs. However life throws her challenges daily and since her diary is no longer enough she has decided it is time for new outlets for the words she would never say face to face to her friends, family or other moms and definitely not her husband.

S
o here in
lays the thoughts of Blue Saffire, the author, the wife, the mother, and the woman. Enjoy.
