Chinese Shrimp and Tofu Soup Ingredients

This dish incorporates the perfect combination of Chinese favorites: Shrimp and Tofu. This is an excellent dish to prepare for shrimp lovers who are looking for that authentic Chinese cuisine taste. This is certainly one dish that will satisfy all of the shrimp lovers out there.

INGREDIENTS:

 
  • 1 Tbsp. of Vegetable Oil

  • 2 Cloves of Garlic, Minced

  • 1, ½ Inch Piece of Ginger Root, Fresh and Minced

  • 6 Ounces of Shrimp, Small In Size, Raw, Fresh, Deveined and Shelled

  • 1 Quart of Chicken Stock, Homemade Preferable

  • 8 Ounces of Tofu, Diced Finely

  • 1/3 Cup of Peas, Frozen and Thawed

  • 1 tsp. of Salt

  • ½ tsp. of Black Pepper, Fresh and Ground

  • 1 Tbsp. of Cornstarch

DIRECTIONS:

 
  1. Heat up your oil in a large sized wok over medium to high heat. Add in your garlic and ginger and cook it until they are both fragrant and lightly browned in color.

  2. Next stir in your shrimp and stir fry it until the shrimp is thoroughly cooked. Remove and set aside for later use.

  3. Then pour in your chicken stock and bring to a rolling boil. Once it begins boiling reduce the heat to medium and add in your tofu and peas. Season with a dash of salt and pepper and return to a simmer.

  4. Mix your cornstarch with a little bit of water until it begins to form a paste that is thin in consistency. Stir your cornstarch mixture into your soup and allow it to continue simmering until it is clear and thick in consistency. This should take about 1 minute.

  5. Stir your shrimp back into your soup and stir to combine. Remove from heat and serve while still piping hot. Enjoy!

Classic Egg Flower Soup

This is yet another traditional dish that you will find commonly in Chinese cuisine. It is both extremely easy to make and incredibly delicious.

  • 2 Cups of Chicken Broth

  • Dash of White Pepper For Taste

  • About 2 tsp. of Sesame Oil

  1. Bring your first three ingredients to a nice rolling boil in a medium to large sized saucepan.

  2. While you are slowly stirring in one direction to help give your soup a little current, pour your beaten egg into the soup in a slow stream. The egg will cook itself the moment it touches the soup.

  3. Then stir in your peas and continue stirring slowly to combine all of your ingredients.

  4. Ladle your soup into a few serving bowls. Garnish with your green onions and serve.

  • 1 Pound of Chicken Wings

  • 2 Tbsp. of Sugar, White

  • ½ Cup of Soy Sauce

  • ¼ Cup of Rice Wine

  • 2 Cloves of Garlic, Minced

  1. The first thing that you will want to do is rinse dry your chicken wings by rinsing them and then patting them with a few paper towels to prepare them.

  2. Then whisk together your sugar, sauces, wine, garlic and oil in a large sized mixing bowl. Add your chicken wings into this mixture and toss gently to evenly coat in the mixture.

  3. Next heat up a lightly oiled large sized skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Pour in your chicken wings, homemade sauce, and water. Cover your pan and allow to cook until your chicken wings are no longer pink. Turn your wings occasionally and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes.

  4. After this time continue cooking your wings until your homemade sauce is thick in consistency. This should take about 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and serve immediately with sauce. Enjoy!

  1. Using a large sized mixing bowl, combine your canola and sesame oil, smooth peanut butter, ginger, raw honey, chipotle pepper, vinegar and favorite soy sauce together with a whisk. This will be your tasty dressing.

  2. Then combine all of your veggies together in a large sized bowl. This will be your hearty salad.

  3. Next add your dressing to your greens and toss with your hands to combine everything together nicely.

INGREDIENTS:

 
  • ½ A Pound of Pork, Ground

  • 8 Canned, Water Chestnuts, Diced Finely

  • ¼ Cup of Green Onions, Finely Chopped

  • 1 Tbsp. of Soy Sauce

  • 1 tsp. of Cornstarch

  • ½ tsp. of Salt

  • ½ tsp. of Ginger, Grated

  • 1 Pack of Wonton Skins Oil, For Frying

DIRECTIONS:

 
  1. In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine all of your ingredients together except for the wonton skins and oil. Mix together until you make a fine mixture. Make sure that you mix well to ensure that all of your ingredients are spread properly.

  2. Next heat up your oil over medium heat in a medium to large sized saucepan or frying pan. Take one wonton skin, and lay it flat onto a flat surface. In the center, place about ¼ to ½ teaspoon of your mixture. Then fold your wonton skin in half, making sure that you cover your mixture. Seal your wontons by slightly pressing down on the dough to fasten it to each other around your pork mixture. Make sure that you the edges of your wontons unsealed.

  3. Then fry your wontons, but do so in small batches only. To do this add a generous amount of oil to a large sized wok or large sized frying pan over medium to high heat. Once the oil is hot enough, fry your wontons for about 2 to 3 minutes or until the wontons are golden brown in colors.

  4. Remove your wontons from the oil and place them onto a plate that is lined with paper towels to help drain the excess oil. Feel free to serve the wontons hot or cold and with a side of sweet and sour sauce.
