Chapter Four

LEILA

“Auzo, wait,” I step over and
grab hold of the reins.

He stares at me.

“Look, Auzo, I fought the bad
aliens and won.  I’m a qualified soldier.”

“But it’s so fucking cold.
You’re wearing nothing.”

He’s so right.   I’ve lost almost
all the alien’s armor.  And the temperature is much lower now.  But I’ve made
up my mind.  “I have to go.  I want to save the girls.  There is no way that I
can just sit on my ass and worry.  Auzo, please understand.”

He stares me hard.

After a few moments, he
rushes into the tent and comes out with a huge coat.  “You’re too fucking
strong-minded, Leila.  Here,” he helps me put on the coat.   It feels like a sleep
bag.  Two Earth people can get inside comfortably.

I try to stick my hand out
from the sleeves but there seems no end to the fabric.

“Ready to go?” without
waiting for my answer, he lifts me bodily and puts me on that funny looking
horse.  The next moment, we are riding fast through the snow.

I can’t see any road.  It’s
all snow everywhere.  Our animals are leading the way, their long legs are
moving fast.  Snow flies all over.

Soon the animal’s body feels
hot, even through my coat, his breath turning heavy.  But Auzo keeps urging him
to go faster.

Heavy snow is falling from
the sky.  A huge snow storm is descending.  I worry if the horse can climb up
the steep slope that sent me tumbling down during the day.

Soon, we are at the top of a hill.
Auzo lets the horse go slowly.  He points at the deep valley far down, “See, we
met there, remember?” He holds me tighter.

Oh, wow, this is great.  I
look hard, and see snow but nothing else.  I turn to smile at him.

“Can I kiss you?” he whispers.

“Come on, this is a
military—”

My teasing is stopped by a
rough kiss. Boy, this feels so incredible.

“Auzo,” I lean my body on his
broad chest.  I can feel the push of this thick cock right at my butt.  I’m so
thrilled.  “Love you, Auzo,” I murmur.

“Love you, too, Leila,” he
kisses my neck from behind.

“Promise you will fight to
win me back from that gross chief.”

“I’ll fight with my life.  I
want you to be my mate, you understand?”

“Yes.”  Honest, I don’t know
much about Auzo.  But I know he is a great warrior.   I feel safe and
comfortable with him.

Suddenly, he pulls the reins taut.
The horse stops right away.

“What happened?” I turn and
ask.

“This is the end of the
mountain ridge.  You don’t want to drop down to the cliff, right?”

He gets off the horse and
then helps me down.  I giggle, landing on the ground.  “Let’s go.”  He leads
the way.

All the soldiers get off
their horses and follow on foot.

We move carefully for a few
moments along the ridge, the wind howling at our backs. Auzo gestures for his
team to stop.  Strong wind is blowing up from the deep cliff.  I shiver and
step back.

Auzo looks around carefully
and then gives the order, “Search.”

The soldiers begin to search
in different directions.  Soon, one soldier comes back, “Search completed.
Nothing found.”

Then another solder comes
back with the same information.  And then another one, another one.

My hearts sinks each time a
soldier says
no
.

By the end, I cover my eyes.
I don’t want to watch the soldiers reporting back any more.

All the soldiers come back
with the bad news.   There is no evidence of our wrecked spaceship at all.

“Sorry, Leila,” Auzo hugs me.

“But they were here.  I left
from here.”

“You sure this is the right
place?”

I look around and shake my
head.  I’m not sure.  It’s snowing.  The sky is full of big snowflakes.  It’s
white everywhere.  There is no way I can tell.

“Maybe the wreckage was on
the other side of the valley?” Auzo looks.

I open my eyes wide but can
barely see anything on the other side of the valley.   I look down; the rift is
so deep.  My heart beats doubles right away.  Gosh, I didn’t realize it was so
dangerous when I came down during the day.

Where are they?  Are they
still alive? I raise my head, trying to figure out a spot on the other side of
the valley where they may be.

“Auzo, can we check the other
side of the valley?”

Auzo thinks for a short moment.
“Sure, we can.  But it will take at least a few hours for us to get there.  It’s
best to do a thorough search on this side of the valley first.”

“Yeah, I agree. But why
didn’t your guys find anything?  Can they recognize a spaceship?”

“Heck, oh, yea.  Those ships
always come, carrying girls for sale.”

“But why didn’t they see
anything?”

“Beats me.”

He scratches his head and
thinks hard.  “Maybe we should search again?”

I shake my head.  “See, the
place is not big.  There is no way your guys would have missed anything.”

He stares at his soldiers.
“Did you guys search every square inch?  I want every rock turned.”

“Yes, commander,” the
soldiers’ answers are loud.

“Keep searching,” he waves
his hand.  The soldiers begin to poke the ground with their weapons.

I watch them for a while and
look at Auzo.  He is staring at them, motionless.

After a long while, he turns
to me, giving me a tiny smile, “You cold?”

“I’m okay.  You think they’re
going to find something this time?”

He looks at me for a few
moments and then squeezes out a word from in between his thick lips, “No.”

Chapter Five

LEILA

Time goes by.  The horses
purr occasionally.  Two of them scratch the ground with their hooves.

The snow has stopped.  The
sky is super clean.  A few stars appear.

What a peaceful and quiet
night.

Are the girls still alive?

If so, how many?

I promised to find help for
them.  I did.  But they’re gone. Why?  And where do they go?

“Auzo?” I murmur.

“Yes?”

“Do you think the girls are
still… alive?”

He looks into my eyes for
long and then whispers, “Sorry, I don’t know.”

“I’m afraid…” I drop onto his
chest, sobbing.

After a while, I raise my
head and ask, “Maybe they have been carried away?” “Carried away?  By what?”

“Huge monsters.  I saw a
white bear as big as a small hill.”

“Oh, that.  He is a Wunder
Armodiallo.  They protect our holy mountain Worken Dorf and our tribe.”

“Oh.  I thought he was going
to hurt me.”

“Never.”

A few moments later, soldiers
begin to come back with the same disappointing information.

Gosh, this is going crazy
now.

Soon, all the soldiers are
back.  They look at their commander in silence.

Auzo stands before them, his
deep baritone echoing in the valley, “You did your best, brothers.  Thank you!”

He turns back, holding my
shoulders, “Leila, I understand how you feel.  Unfortunately we can’t find
them.  It doesn’t mean that we’re going to give up.  We will have to go back to
the tribe now.  My soldiers need some rest.  Then tomorrow morning, we’re going
to search the other side of the valley.”

I try so hard to hold me
tears.  “Thank you, Auzo.”  I look at the soldiers, “Thank you, everyone.”

We head back as quickly as
possible.  More than once, the horses slip as they gingerly make their way down
the slope.

Suddenly an idea flashes through
my mind.  I turn back to Auzo, “Wait, Auzo, I think we missed something.”

“You mean… my guys didn’t
search the area thoroughly?”

“Oh, no.  I didn’t mean
that.  They did a perfect job for sure.  But I’m thinking that maybe we should
also search the other side of the hill.”

“You mean the
cliff
?”

I know what Auzo means.  This
is his home.  He must know that the cliff is super steep.  And I saw that,
too.  But…

I think for a few more
moments, trying to picture what I saw.  “Auzo, I remember one thing.”

“What?” He holds the rein.
The horse stops.

“I got off the wreckage and
rolled down a deep slope right away.  I don’t remember climbing over a hill
top.”

“You mean…?” he looks at me
and then smashes his head, “Fuck, we missed one place.  Let’s go back.”

Soon, we reach the top
again.  The horses are all wet with sweat.

“Follow me.”  He waves his
hand.  Then he turns back to me, “You stay
right here
.”

“Why?”

“It’s too fucking dangerous.”

“Why do you think it’s too
dangerous for me, not for you?” I challenge him.

He looks at me for a moment
or two and then gives me a tiny smile.  “Okay, come.  But don’t leave my side.”

We inch over the top of the
ridge carefully, looking down the valley.  Soon, we see a small plateau, the
area finally evening out a bit.  “There,” Auzo points.

I see a small pile of snow
higher than the rest.  It was at a small platform, close to a huge cave.  “Is
that the wreckage?”

“I’m sure it’s something new.
Let’s go check.”

He leads the way down to the
spot.  The ground is extremely slippery.  He holds my hand tight and moves
carefully.

Soon, I’m sweating from the
exertion. But I bite my lips and keep moving.

After God knows how long,
we’re on the plateau.

The soldiers begin to remove
the snow with their shields.  Soon, I hear a shield hitting metal.

Thank God.  I close my eyes
and pray.

The soldiers are moving super
fast now.  Soon, the wreckage appears right in front of our eyes.

“Hey, Darcy! It’s me, girls…”
I push the snow away with the soldiers, calling.

The crack on the top appears.
To my surprise, a huge piece of the hull has been ripped off.  It’s now a huge
hole.

What happened?  Why did the
girls do that?  Without the coverage, they would have been frozen soon.

God, this is no fucking
good.

“Darcy, Darcy!” I almost cry.

A few soldiers jump into the
hole and keep digging.  The snow flies out.

Soon, they walk along the
hull and disappear into the darkness.

My heart is thumping.  Are
the girls still alive?

Gosh, why didn’t I hear
anything from inside?

Are they all… dead?

Soon, they come out, dragging
a few bodies.

Oh, my gosh!

I look.  But Darcy is not
among them.

I see the two dead aliens, now
all naked.

And I see the girls who were
killed during the crash.  Their bodies are covered with blood.

But I don’t see any other
girls.

I look at Auzo.

“I’m sorry to see what
happened, Leila,” he hugs me lightly.

“But Auzo, there should be a
lot more.”

“You serious?”

“Yeah.  These are the ones we
lost during the fight. There are way more girls.  But none of them are here.
They’re missing!”

“Search again,” Auzo gives
the order right away.

A few more soldiers come in.
After a while, they come back with no dead body.

“We searched every square inch
of the hull,” a leader reports to Auzo.

“Thank you!”  Auzo nods to them.
Then he turns back to me, “Sorry, Leila.”

“But why?” I look at him.

He thinks for a few moments
and then whispers, “Come.”

He helps me get into the
hull.  I stumble along, hitting the metal frames many times.  Soon, we’ve gone through
everywhere.

Nope.  No girls.  Nothing.

They simply disappeared.

How?

Chapter Six

LEILA

“Auzo…” I drop against his
body and sob.

“I’m sorry, Leila.  We did
our best.”

“But why are they missing?  Where
are the bodies?”

Auzo shakes his head slightly.
“Don’t know.”

“Maybe they left to look for
help?” I murmur.

“Maybe…” he looks around and
says, “Hmmm… maybe they went down the slope like you did.  Don’t you think so?”

“Yeah, that’s possible.  Should
we look for them then?”

“If they did that, they might
have all disappeared under the thick snow.”

My blood freezes.  I know
what he means.  And I know that without food and warm clothing, there is no way
they could have survived the bitter cold in the midnight.

I listen to the gushing wind
outside.  It sounds like hell.  “I hope they didn’t suffer too much.”

“Me too,” Auzo murmurs.

I look around.  This is the
cage we suffered and then fought out of together.  But now, I’m the only survivor.
What were Darcy and the girls thinking when they left this hull to look for help?

They must have been cold,
hungry, and desperate.  Dying slowly from hypothermia and hunger, on a remote
planet.  Gosh, that must be horrible.

I stand there praying for
them.

After a long while, Auzo says
softly, “Their souls must be in the heaven now.  Let’s go home, Leila.”

I nod slightly.  Then I
murmur, “Auzo?”

“What?”

“I want to bring something
back.  Something belonging to my friends.”

“Okay.”

We begin to search for things
they might have left behind.   I see a few pieces of clothing, covered in
blood.  I pick them up and put them in the huge pocket of the coat I’m
wearing.

“Shall we go now?” Auzo asks
softly.

“Bye Darcy, bye girls…” I
look around.  Then I step over to a faucet on the wall. That’s what so many
girls have touched.  I want to touch it once more.

“Ouch!” I stumble on
something.

Auzo draws his sword and
rushes over.  “What?”  He looks around carefully and then pushes the sword
back.  “You okay?”

He sits on the floor to check
my foot, rubbing it a few times.

Then he picks up the object I
stumbled on, his face suddenly excited. “Look, this is fucking interest.  Yeah,
yeah!  Your girls are all alive, I swear they are!”

“How come, Auzo?  Why are you
so sure?”

“Look, this is a scabbard of
an enemy tribe.  See, here, and here, see how special they are?”

I look hard and see some
weird painting, all in dark red.

“This is painted in blood,”
Auzo looks right into my eyes.

I step back and take a deep
breath, my eyes rounding and widening.  My heart is jumping out of my chest.

“Sorry, Leila, I scared you.”

“It’s okay, Auzo.  But why do
you think the girls are still alive if they are in the hands of the bloody
enemy?”

“You’re right.  The
Galilatawrians love blood.”

“You mean… they drink human
blood?”

“No one has seen that.  But
people believe that they have regular cannibalistic feasts.”

“Oh, my gosh.  Are they going
to eat the girls?”

“Not all.  But the weak and wounded
might be in danger.  Rumor has it that they eat their own severely wounded
soldiers, too.”

“That’s horrible.”

“But the soldiers believe
it’s a way to die with glory.  Again, it’s rumor.”

“Auzo, can’t we fight them?
We must save the girls!”

“Sure we will.  But I have to
talk our chief into putting claims on the girls, and then we must plan well.
The Galilatawrians are island dwellers.  We have to be supremely prepared.”

“What if the chief says
no
?”

I’m so worried. There are so
many concerns.  The chief may say
no
.  The preparation may get delayed.
Or the girls may die of hunger or sickness. God, I’m so worried.

One our way home, we say
nothing.  Finally, I ask, “Auzo, do we have ships?”  They live in the deep
mountains.  I can’t imagine that they have huge ships to carry the soldiers to
an island far away.

“We have beautiful
battleships, Leila.  Our navy is among the strongest too.  We’re only a couple
miles away from the coast line.  The river in the valley flows into the sea,
too.”

“Thank God,” I whisper.

Then I shake my head
slightly.

Auzo knows what’s in my
mind.  He says softly, “Don’t worry about the girls for now.  They have the
same rules as we do.  They will have to bring the girls back to the tribe
first.  The chief will decide what to do with them.”

“What do they usually do with
the girls?”

“Turn them into slaves.”

“What?”

“The Galilatawrians are
strong and violent.  The Earth girls are considered too weak for wives.”

He stops for a moment and
then continues, “They want their men to mate with the women of their size so
the babies will become strong soldiers.”

“Are they bigger than you?”

“No, we’re the same size.  It’s
only that they’re more war-like and extremely violent.”

I feel bit better now.  At
least there is still hope.

But still, I’m not sure if
the chief is going to say
yes
to the rescue.  There is no denying that
he authorized
this
rescue and then moved his troops instantly.  At this
very instant, I feel a great warmness towards him for what he has done.

But will he do it again,
sending all the soldiers to a far away island to rescue a couple girls from a
remote planet?  He may risk losing people.

His perverted gaze and
awkward words appear in my head again.  He was so selfish and mean when he dealt
with women.  He views all the women as his private property.  And he wants to
bring them all into his bed.

But rescuing the captured
girls on an island by fighting fierce cannibals?   I don’t see a reason why he
should do that.  His soldiers may die in the battle. They may be wounded,
captured, and then eaten by the enemy.   Will he take the risk only for a couple
new wives?

He may upset his tribe people
by doing that.  Also, going to a battle is costly.   This is another negative
factor he will have to consider when making his decision.

Gosh, the more I think about
it, the less opportunity I can see the rescue will happen.

I sigh.

“Don’t worry, Leila, I’ll try
my best,” Auzo whispers at my ears.

“I believe you, Auzo.”
