Christmas for the Wolves & a Wolf for Valentine's Day (Grey Wolf Pack) (9 page)

“You let it go to your head, and you dumped Lilah so you could be a big man on campus. Am I right?”

The bear muttered that he was.

“And now that you’ve come home you’ve decided you want your old girlfriend back, because you couldn’t find anyone better…”

The bear roared at him. “She’s my mate!”

Gabe blinked at him, ignoring his wolf’s tenseness at the bear’s outburst.

Tommy calmed a little. “She’s my mate. I was 18 when I left for college; I didn’t know who she was to me.”

Gabe put his hands on his hips. “So now you know, suddenly you realize what an asshole you’ve been.”

Tommy’s muscles were rigid as he tried to maintain an even temper. “I was going to apologize even before I knew who she was. The whole time I was away from home all I thought about was Lilah. I’ve loved her since I was 16 and I always will! I was devastated when I found out she got married, but when I found out what happened I was… well I was livid that bastard laid a finger on her! But I hoped that maybe I still had a shot with her, and then when I realized she was my mate, it just felt so right.”

Tommy breathed deeply after his outburst, massive chest heaving up and down.

“Dude, seriously, why didn’t you just put your name on the flowers you sent her?”

Tommy shook his head sadly. “I was… I was afraid she’d just throw them out, I thought she might be mad at me.”

Gabe scoffed. “So, you decided to scare the crap out of her?!”

The bear howled, banging his fists on the counter. “I didn’t mean to! I love her, damnit! I want to be with her.”

Gabe studied the seething bear; he was sure Tommy was telling the truth. “Okay, but I think we can both agree that your approach isn’t working.”

Grudgingly, the bear had to agree. “What do you suggest?”

“Something radical -
honesty
.”

Gabe pulled up to the house. Kira eagerly ran out to meet him, throwing her arms round him as her wolf danced around.

“What happened? What’s going on? Did you find the asshole doing this? Did you beat him?”

Gabe held up his hands in surrender. “Whoa, whoa, whoa! Okay, one question at a time. Not much, you’ll see, yes I did and no beating was necessary.”

Kira sniffed the air. “Who’s that in the truck?”

Lilah and the rest of her family came out onto the porch, all craning their necks to see what was happening.

Gabe nodded in the direction of the truck, and with an effort the large bear unloaded himself and shuffled over to them, carrying a bunch of tulips.
Lilah’s favorite
.

Lilah gasped. “Tommy! Is that you?”

Tommy kicked the ground; he looked like an overgrown 4-year-old. “Hey, Lilah I…”

“What’s he doing here?” interrupted Kira, her wolf snarled at the male.

Tommy started growling lightly, before a warning look from Gabe quieted him.

Gabe slipped an arm around Kira’s waist. “Tommy has something he wants to say.” Gabe nodded encouragement at the young bear.

Tommy gulped and started talking in a rush, his eyes flicking toward Lilah. “It was me who sent you those gifts and those flowers… I umm… I was trying to do something nice for you, I wanted to show how sorry I was for the way I treated you, and because I… I umm, I think you’re my mate.”

“What?!” squawked Kira.

Gabe kept hold of the struggling Kira, who was eager to storm over to the bear and give him a piece of her mind.

Lilah slowly walked down the steps; her face deliberately impassive. “You do?”

Tommy nodded sheepishly. “I caught your scent a week ago at the grocery store; I was too embarrassed to say hello.”

Kira harrumphed. “So you thought stalking was the better option?”

“I wasn’t stalking!” hissed Tommy. “I was just trying… I was…”

He hushed as Lilah came to stand in front of him. She leaned toward him and sniffed; moaning slightly, her eyes flashed to warm amber.

“Are those for me?” Lilah asked quietly.

Tommy gazed adoringly at her. “Huh?”

She smiled slightly and inclined her head to the tulips.

“Oh, right, yes they are.” Tommy thrust them at her. “I remembered you like them.”

“They’re beautiful, thank you. Why don’t we go for a walk? So that we can talk.”

Tommy breathed a huge sigh of relief. “Yeah, yeah I’d like that.”

Lilah passed a dumbfounded Kira her flowers, before walking away with a beaming Tommy.

The rest of the family seemed satisfied and went back in the house chuckling.
There was only one person who wasn’t altogether happy.

Kira scowled. “What the hell?!”

Gabe kissed her temple. “What?

“He’s such an asshole! He doesn’t deserve her, he…”

Gabe silenced her with a lengthy kiss, leaving her wolf virtually purring. “You’re right, but I guess he has the rest of his life to make it up to her.”

“But…”

“No buts, flower. I know you want to protect your sister, but I don’t think she needs it from him.”

Kira huffed. “I just don’t want to see her get hurt.”

“I know you’ve got a big heart, flower. It’s one of the many reasons I love you.”

Kira fidgeted in his arms. “Well, you’ve got me there.”

He chuckled. “Come on, crisis averted, everyone’s happy. Let’s just relax and enjoy Christmas.”

Kira smiled naughtily. “Hmmm, how about we head on back to the stables?”

Gabe paled. “Not to ride the horses, right?”

“No, to pick up where we left off earlier.” She stood on her tiptoes and nipped his ear.

“Now you’re talking!”

Adam & Rosalee – Spa Day

30
th
December

Rosalee smoothed a hand over her husband’s cute butt. Her husband!
Yep, that was definitely taking some getting used to.

She and her mate, Adam Grey, hot, sexy, Alpha of the Grey wolf pack, married on 23
rd
December, scooted up to Niagara Falls for a short honeymoon and were now on their way back to Rose for New Year’s Eve.

After spending the honeymoon in a rented holiday home,
which they barely left
, Rosalee suggested, or rather insisted, they spend one night in a luxury hotel before returning home.
She wanted pampering, just for one night at least.

Adam grouched and said he pampered her all the time. Rosalee pointed out that at a hotel you could order breakfast in bed, him bringing her Pop Tarts, and a carton of orange juice to bed in the morning wasn’t quite the same. And he only did that because he didn’t want her to get out of bed, if he had his way she’d barely ever leave their bed.
Not that she was complaining
.

“Mrs. Grey? Mrs. Grey?” The friendly looking receptionist smiled patiently.

Rosalee flustered. “Oh yeah, that’s me! Sorry, I keep forgetting.”

Adam raised an eyebrow and snorted, earning him a pinch on his aforementioned cute butt.

During their honeymoon,
spent almost entirely naked
, Adam had repeatedly called her Mrs. Grey. He delighted in the sound of it; however she still couldn’t get used to it.

Rosalee sighed; she was a little sad to be going home. The last week had been marvelous, from their beautiful wedding, right through to their time alone, and she had loved every moment.
But now it was back to reality.

Adam, on the other hand, was dying to get home. He’d never been away from his pack for such a long stretch of time; he was getting antsy, and keen to catch up on pack news. Rosalee hid his cell phone; he’d been out of touch for what felt like forever. Not that he really minded; being alone with his mate, and now wife, wasn’t a chore. He would just prefer for them to be alone at home, in Rose, where they both belonged.

Adam was kind of a control freak about the pack. It wasn’t that surprising; he was their Alpha. Their almighty leader, their undisputed ruler, their all-powerful dictator,
Adam really hated it when she called him all those things.
But Adam had trouble letting go; almost every waking moment was devoted to the pack. Rosalee didn’t begrudge the pack his attention, but now and again, she just couldn’t help feeling a teeny-weeny bit jealous.

Yes, she knew she was irrational. She knew she was first in his heart, but she couldn’t help her feelings. A tiny part of her wanted to run away, just the two of them, so they’d only have to worry about each other. She gave herself a mental slap whenever that thought arose; she knew it wasn’t feasible, and it wasn’t what she truly wanted.

Rosalee was also keen to see her mother and friends. In particular, she was mindful of her mother’s burgeoning relationship with an older pack member called Greyson. The fact that the relationship was no longer burgeoning, and they were a full-on couple who were actually living together, bugged her a little. Maybe because she had never seen her mother serious about any relationship, and Rosalee was a little overprotective. Whatever the reason, Rosalee wanted to be there for her mother, should the need her.

The receptionist handed them keycards to their room, the honeymoon suite, and they were soon happily canoodling in the elevator.

Rosalee sighed and leaned her head against his broad chest.

“What’s wrong sweetheart?”

“Oh nothing, just a little sad the honeymoon’s over.”

Adam chuckled deeply, as his hand travelled down her back. “Yeah, but there’s nothing to stop us going on a second, third, fourth and fifth honeymoon.”

Rosalee raised her head to look at him wryly. “Think you can drag yourself away from the pack long enough to enjoy some more alone time with me?”

Adam pursed his lips. “That’s not fair. I’ve been completely cut off from the pack for this past week…”

She huffed at him. “Because I hid your cell phone, and where we were staying didn’t have a phone. If it had, you would have been calling Alec for reports every day.”

Adam gave her a pained look as his wolf whined. “The pack is important; they rely on me…”

“I know, I know, I just… sometimes I just wish I had you all to myself. I’m just being selfish.”

“Nah, who wouldn’t want me all to themselves?”

Rosalee elbowed him in the stomach, as she flounced out the elevator. “Butthole.”

Adam followed, carrying their bags, trying not to snicker.

Rosalee cooed at how gorgeous the honeymoon suite was. The bed was enormous and covered in rose petals. Kicking off her shoes, she ran and jumped on it, sending petals flying everywhere.

She lay back as Adam slowly crawled over her; his lips curled up in a predatory grin. He nestled his body between her thighs and pinned her arms above her head. Excitement coursed through her as she felt his enormous sex digging into her.

“Now, what was that name you just called me?” he asked, huskily, eyes flashing amber.

Rosalee bit her lip and wriggled her hips, earning a lusty groan from her mate. “I think it was butthole. What’s the big, bad Alpha going to do about it?”

Adam nuzzled her neck, licking her bonding mark; pleasure gushed through her. “Well,” came his muffled voice, “I might start by peeling your clothes off, then I thought I would kiss every single inch of you, before pushing my big, hard cock in you, and making you come over and over until you beg me to stop.”

Umm, that did sound good
. “Oooh, I can’t wait. But first I have a surprise treat for us.”

She gently slid her hands out of his grasp and pushed him away. She slithered off the bed and began rifling through their suitcases.

Adam stared at her in disbelief, as his wolf growled in annoyance. “Tell me you’re kidding?”

“Nuh-uh. Trust me; it’s going to be great.”

Adam slumped on the bed, ignoring the grumblings of his animal, while willing his painfully large erection to go away. “But I thought we were going to…”

“Yeah, but we can do that anytime. We’ve been doing that non-stop since… well almost since the day we met. Today, we’re going to do something different.”

Adam gritted his teeth. “Sounds great.”

*

“A spa, sweetheart?”

Adam looked between his mate and the entrance to the hotel spa. Numerous people in robes milled around, they had towels round their heads and were smiling serenely. To the Alpha, it looked torturous.

Rosalee beamed. “You said you wanted to try new things.”

He looked at her incredulously. “What? When the hell have I ever said that?”

She knit her brows together. “Well… umm… didn’t you… maybe I was thinking of someone else.”

Adam huffed belligerently. “I’m not going in there. Men don’t go to spas.”

Rosalee tutted and folded her slender arms. “Of course they do! Men go in all the time, look there’s one, there’s another. Oooh, there’s two more over there.” She nodded her head towards the numerous men entering and leaving the spa.

Adam scoffed and flexed his muscles. “Real men don’t go to spas.” His wolf bellowed in agreement.

Rosalee smirked. “Real men are so secure that they can get manny/peddys if they want them.”

“What the hell are manny/peddys?”

Rosalee rolled her eyes. “You’re kidding, right? Did you not date women before you met me? Manicures and pedicures.”

Adam snorted. “No self-respecting man would want to sit and get a manicure or pedicure.”

“Those who care about ever having sex again do. The big, gruff, macho male thing is okay, but dirt under broken fingernails is not.”

Adam folded his massive arms, and his beast huffed. “Please!”

Rosalee walked two fingers up his arm, sending pleasant tingles through his body.
The smallest touch from her almost sent him wild.

“You don’t have to do anything ‘girly’, you could just get a massage or enjoy a steam. Just relax; it will do you a world of good.”

“The odds of me relaxing while I’m half naked, and some guy is feeling me up are slim.”

She fluttered her eyelashes prettily, and he had a bad feeling he was done for.

“Alpha, I didn’t bring you here to make you tense, I brought you here to relax. Look, I know how hard it is being the Alpha, having to worry about all our pack mates, having to deal with all the problems and all the issues. I just wanted to do something to help you. I know I don’t always help either because sometimes I just want you all to myself, and to hell with the rest of the world. But if it’s not helping, then, I’m sorry, we don’t have to stay. We could just go back to our room, and watch TV.”

Her beautiful face had such a sad little look on it that he almost melted on the spot. Big, bad Alpha - yeah right!
She had him wrapped around her pinky.

Adam reached out and took one of her hands. His wolf snarled at him for upsetting their mate,
hypocritical
beast
. “No, let’s stay, thank you for doing this nice thing for me.”

Rosalee’s face lit up. “Really?”

He let out a protracted sigh. “Yeah, really. I won’t pretend that I’m gonna enjoy this, but I want to make you happy. Besides, if I do this for you, I can only imagine what you’d be willing to do for me in return.”

Rosalee gave an exaggerated eye-roll. “Keep dreaming, Alpha.”

*

“So, what did you think of the spa?” Rosalee asked him eagerly.

Adam hesitated. He wanted to complain about how much he hated it, except for one problem – he hadn’t. In spite of his wolf’s howling protests, he’d actually enjoyed himself.

He started the day swimming laps in the pool, before enjoying a steam and then a massage from a young masseuse called Tiffy. The masseuses had actually fought over who got to massage him; it made his chest puff up with pride. Thankfully, Rosalee hadn’t minded about that, or the fact that a young woman would have her hands all over him. He, on the other hand, had absolutely insisted that she could not be touched by the six foot two, strapping, male masseuse.
His wolf would never have allowed another man to touch her.

Now, they were ending the day in a private Jacuzzi, sipping champagne and eating strawberries. He’d really never felt more relaxed.

He shrugged before downing his glass. “Yeah, it was okay.”

“See, trying new things isn’t so bad.”

Rosalee snickered before ducking down, so the water reached her neck. Adam watched her wonderingly before she popped back up, and threw her swimsuit at him.

“In fact, I think we should try something else new.”

She leaned back on the edge of the Jacuzzi, her perky breasts bobbing in the water, and a wicked look on her face.

Adam growled throatily as his wolf roared excitedly, before impatiently ripping his shorts off, and pinning her against the side of the Jacuzzi with a fierce kiss.

Briefly he worried about getting caught, but those thoughts were soon dismissed. Lust powered through him like a runaway freight train, and even if he wanted to, he couldn’t have stopped himself.

Feverishly, he began kissing, and biting his way down her neck; her lithe body twitched and jerked in his arms under his ministrations. He smoothed his tongue over the bonding mark, and she moaned sweetly.

Adam groaned as her blunt teeth nipped at his neck; his throbbing manhood grew and strained toward her. Rosalee giggled gleefully, before gasping as her strong mate spun her round. She kneeled on the seat and rested her elbows on the edge of the Jacuzzi, enjoying the warm, bubbly water lapping at her skin.

He parted her legs and dipped a thick finger through her folds, easily sliding in and out of her waiting channel. Rosalee whimpered and pushed her hips back at him, desperate for more.

Adam withdrew his finger, and fisting his steely member aligned himself with her entrance. She shrieked as he entered her with a forceful thrust, and began plunging in and out of her. The water splashed around them, as he powerfully drove himself inside her again and again.

His hands glided round her, seeking her breasts; he cupped and massaged the luscious mounds, as he kissed her bonding scar. The added stimulation was too much; she bucked against him as a marvelous orgasm swept through her body, lighting her up like a Christmas tree and making her scream in ecstasy.

The blissful sensations gushed through their bond sparking his release. Adam roared in time with his wolf as he hardened and then exploded. His mate clutched, and grasped at him with her inner muscles as he pumped his seed inside her.

Rosalee trembled in his strong arms, relishing the feelings pulsing through her. Slightly awkwardly, Adam maneuvered them backwards, until she was sat on his lap, still intimately joined. He wrapped his arms around her and rested his head on her shoulder.
